Is Treloar a definite out? I was out for dinner (and drowning my sorrows in much wine) so didn’t see the Dogs game.
I know he was subbed off but have they said what the issue was?

ankle was in a moon boot at the end of the game, will probably miss 3-4 weeks

In: Salem, Viney, B.Brown

Out: Jetta, Melksham, Sparrow

Medical Sub: Jordan

Lets play McDonald, Weideman, B.Brown & Jackson in the same team and really stretch the Dogs defense.

Why not?

The Eagles have played  Kennedy, Darling, Allen & 2 rucks in the same team this year.

It only works if you have quality i50 delivery. Otherwise it will rebound out just as quick as it went in.

I’m old school, Fristch should be dropped for his pathetic defensive efforts (and this issue isnt isolated to the Adelaide game) & general selfishness. Not sure he will be though.

Jordon needs a spell. He’s been great but his output has been dropping & he needs a rest. But if Melksham’s foot is sore Jordon might stay in the side.

And sadly, the man we all love, Jetta, is done.

any other week hunt is out but with the doggies ahead i think he stays in but i've been saying for 3 weeks now he's not a finals hb flanker he has too many deficiencies and goes missing

changes:

OUT: Jetta Melksham

IN: Salem Viney

harmes to HF, also maybe time to rest jordon for sparrow and throw bedford a chance as a small forward but this isnt the week for those types of moves

He should have played instead of Jetta. Easy to say in hindsight, and was just as easy to say in foresight.

Bowey is better I would play him ahead of those 2 even though he was injured last week.

I actually can’t believe Tmac missed his set shot last night. He hasn’t missed those all year. So costly.
And Fritsch’s set shot was an utter disgrace. Didn’t make the distance or even landed anywhere near the goals. They kicked accurately and won. Our woeful goal kicking is just another area that is starting to hurt us badly.

Agree. I back Tommy every time. I thought it's not a great night when he misses those.

Fritta still annoyed he went the dribble kick option & stuff it

Bowey is better based on what? Lockhart is a defender. Bowey is a midfielder/forward.

Folks who are including Viney as an “in” might be disappointed. There’s been very little to suggest he’ll be ready anytime before Queen’s birthday.

Reading between the lines my guess is Viney has had a minor setback and won't be available.

If you listen to recent interviews by Goodwin there was a clear change in the narrative.

Wrong. Bowey is a defender

Might want to let the club know that. They’ve got him down as a midfielder/forward.

That's wrong too. He's played as a defender all year I should know I've seen everyone of his games.

If Viney doesn't play I would have Mitch replacing Melksham. Mitch will be a tough match up for the doggies.

trade" and be done with it.; however neither McDonald nor Brown are spring chickens and we've got no one coming up under them other than the Wied reailly.

Was in the same mind set about losing Sam.

But this year and next are the window for a flag with this group so lets not worry about him going. If bb gets us more goals at the expense of sam leaving  then so be it.

Maybe hes the player we hoped he be.

I’ll never understand why we dropped Brown. I thought we was pretty good when he played. Jetta is out for good. I also thought we bought Jackson back too fast. We really need Salem back. Clarity in for sure. Wiederman is definitely out. Gawn should be warned if he doesn’t do better he’ll be dropped.
Tmac, Kozzie, Tracc should stay but will have to train harder.

Cmon Cassie take a step back and thing about your comments before posting.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing when it comes to knowing who should have played between Weed or Ben Brown. As for Gawn you are way off and if you think we would ever drop our captain you are kidding yourself.  Gawn hasn’t been dominating the last few weeks but to even entertain dropping him is ludicrous.

Not sure what you are both going off but in Goodwins media conference late last week he said Viney just needed to tick the boxes to be available vs dogs. That’s obviously not a guarantee but to me says there is a path to him playing

Gawn has been a bit down but still serviceable. I don’t know what it is but he seems a bit distracted and lacking focus. Needs to just work through this patch

Needs to axe the podcast. Anyone who’s listened knows his brain is addled. As is Brayshaw’s.

Jetta has been excellent in the VFL where as Lockhart had one game back from a calf after missing time with his ‘groin’ injury.

I can see why they went with Jetta. But it wasn’t just Nev who was disappointing. Hibberd, Rivers and Hunt all weren’t as good in slightly reshuffled roles. That’s as much on them.

I think in the future Bowey could cover Salem. Lockhart can cover Hunt or Rivers and Jetta only gets used to cover Hibberd. But that relies on Bowey and Lockhart being fully healthy.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
