Joking. Not joking

If we won a flag I'd be keen on that 100%

Agreed..a fine idea!  Should that miracle occur, Id love to meet my fellow companions of these years , travellers through the dark woods of the tanking and Neeld years and way way beyond.

The Royal?...spotting me will be no problem, I'll be the one with my top off.

There's not enough sheilas on Demonland.

It would be just a bunch of  drunken blokes - many of whom seem just as [censored] up as me !

Yeah could be a good night !!!!

You could factor in some female impersonators. There will be some of us, I mean them, here

Great topic guys, and really loving being a Melbourne supporter right now. Is anyone else watching On the Couch tonight?? I tuned in, hoping to get a snippet or brief mention of our win on the weekend, but couldn't believe the 7/8 minute intro that brought a premature tear to my eye. This is building beautifully.

Thanks for the heads up Dan! Just watched that now and enjoyed it very much! Learnt a few interesting things about the MFC too.

How good would a meet up be for the Demonland faithful after our imminent premiership, I suggest Pretty Please in St Kilda or maybe Harlow in Richmond.

Sack goodwin

Three months ago I was guilty of speculating how many losses it would take before the media started calling for his scalp.

Personally I think I qanted someone more like Ports coach. A bit of fire in the belly who would go out and blast a few players.

Goody is clearly very diffferent and his learnings wasnt just media speak. He obviously has been building wisdom and skills. He has placed a good group of other coaches and staff around him and its falling into place.

Nice to see you coming over from the dark side ?  Watching the game on Sunday, I was really impressed seeing Goodwin sitting with, and talking to (words of encouragement) the players on the bench, one on one.

It all evens out in the end, doesn’t it?

In 2013, we had people unbelievably telling us that things weren’t really as bad as they seemed. (Note: It really was)

In 2018, we had some people coming out and saying that the losses to Richmond and Hawthorn were as bad as anything Neeld ever produced (Note: Watch the entire Seven broadcast of 148 and tell me if you think that’s the case), and that Goody’s tenure should be questioned from that moment onwards.

While there were outliers, the truth about those eras were eventually revealed. As will the truth about this era.

Should we continue to win, there will be no room for conjecture.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
