Kysaiah vs Cyril ... Who is the Better?

Featured Replies

Thanks for this.

Too early to call.

Ill just say its exciting to keep winning but also exciting to see just what Kozzie will do each week.

Get the feeling hes going to rip a game totally apart.

Cyril...4 x Premiership Player

3 x AA

Norm Smith medal.

An impressive career.

If Kosie does that with us I will be more than happy...

Too early

Let's keep a little check on the hyperbole for the moment. Kozzie's good but he's not deliiiiiiiiiiiiicious yet !!!!

Kozzie is going great for a youngster, but to say he’s already better than Cyril is a bit silly. Cyril is a Norm Smith medalist and three time All Australian. Kozzie has a long way to go to be better than Cyril.

That said he’s on track to become a star like Cyril was!

It has to Kozzie by a country mile. The old footy adage applies - you're only as good as your next game and Cyril doesn't have a next game.

How some statistical article can get excited comparing 7 game averages agains a 30 - 40 game average is beyond me.  Wounder if you went cherry picking a 7 game streak from that first two seasons of Cryil if you'd find something where he's smashed Kossie in some stat or another.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kossie and I don't even think we've seen the peak of what his 2021 season can produce yet, but comparing such dissimilar sample sizes of games is rather silly.

The pole of who would you rather have is a bit silly too isn't it.  So 53% of the footy public would rather have a player in their mid-late 30s with a busted up body that 19yo Kossie?

So Charlie Spargo is better than Gary Ablett Snr?

He'd be happy with that.

Oh, fer chrissake. Can we just wait until after Spargo's retired and see if he's involved in murky circumstances surrounding a fatal drug overdose before we start making comparisons?

Not yet but he will be.
Confidence growing in front of the goals every game.

Love the statistical comparison but everyone is different . His chasing reminds of me Davey , his ability to do the unthinkable like Cyril , the marking of the Wizz and the likability of Betts .

I thank my luck stars he plays for us and fingers crossed we will see him for a decade .

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
