I believe Naimh McEvoy and Shae Sloane have announced their retirement.

Other moves across the league in the article below. Apparently we are into Geelong's Olivia Purcell. Not having seen much of the Cats I know little (nothing) about her.

The article also states that we made a big play for Collingwood's Chloe Molloy. That would have been huge had we been able to lever her out but it appears she is going to sign on with the 'Pies again.

We badly need a dominant key forward. If Tayla Harris is gettable then i would go hard. We'd need to do our due diligence as the stories about her lack of engagement and fitness issues are a concern. But if she is motivated and in the right frame of mind then she would be perfect for us.

Apparently demanding $150,000 a year from Carlton. $30k for playing and they are currently employed her on about $80k at the club.    But she is not consistent, very hot and cold, seems more focussed on her boxing and overall profile?

I agree that we'd want a more consistent player than Harris given what we're lacking in that area. When she's good, she's very good, but otherwise I don't really see her as a good fit. I doubt she'll be at the Blues but I can see her going north (Gold Coast or GWS) where her marketability would be a huge asset.

Having said that, I don't really have another option for who we should be targeting... The idea that Molloy would leave Collingwood stuck me as very unlikely. That's all external though and I guess you may as well try!

Could we consider developing Bannan for a full forward role. Just a thaught.

Harris just kicked four goals in eight games for a team on the cusp of the finals, I wouldn't pay her $3.50.

No she is a running player rather than KP unless she develops more physically.

We badly need a big KP forward though as Tegan is not the full time answer and most others are flankers size.

Petrevski hopefully will be fit as we need her crumbing snd speed badly.

Also  need A KP back of some  size For marking.

We must build up the forward line to eradicate these days when we lock badly.

They cost us again badly  vs Dogs  Pies  and Crows in Prelim.

To take the next step we need a dominant KF. Perhaps Zanker can go forward and do the job. She's got the physique and can mark the ball although her set-shot kicking is iffy.  That said, her form in the middle was so good when she was switched there for the second half of the season I think she's more valuable there.

Whats Gemma Houghton's contract situation at Freo. Could she be persuaded to come across I wonder.

Keystral Petrevski is a crumpet who may be over her ACL but yes another would be handy plus a KP for both forward and back.

Good to see the AFL trying it's best to kill this competition.  Sometimes growth isn't for the better, AFLW should be for show casing the elite AFLW, should be 8 club tops and have a really good product, to increase to 18 is silly.  Great for young girls playing the game they need to find another 120ish players to play AFLW.

Big call by AFL, still has it's head in the sand about the massive decline in Boys playing the game

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
