The throwing is completely out of control. Umpires instructed to keep the game moving regardless of the rules it seems.ย
ย

Brisbane have played right into Geelong's hands and let them take the speed out of the game.

Pathetic to date, but not helped by a few gift goalsย at the end of the Q.

If Brisbane win this I may get a stitchย from all the laughing that will occur

The Dadโ€™sย army โ€œweโ€™re in premiership windowโ€โ€˜ ย strategy unraveling before our very eyes.ย

Even better, in front of their own supporters.

ย

I have a feeling Geelong will win as a result of a dodgy free kick, one of their players will flop. I can feel it, deep down, in my plums.ย

Maggots doing ย their best - and probably succeeding to get the Cats over the line.ย

Even if itโ€™s not holding the ball he didnโ€™t dispose of it. The umpires flatly refuse to rule incorrect disposal. And itโ€™s now cost Brisbane the game.

You got it right 'Ethan'...those crystal balls are working well tonight...

Most nuffies donโ€™t understand holding the ball and donโ€™t understand the concept that a player only needs to โ€œattemptโ€ to dispose of the ball of the player has NOT had prior opportunity.

However, that non-decision at the end was the wrong call and cost Brisbane the game.

That is a disgusting end to that match. Absolutely disgusting.ย

That missed free on Blicavs was a gutless mistake from the umpire. But Geelongโ€™s last goal came from a Selwood duck drawing a free, then an iffy 50m penalty, then another iffy free against Ah Chee.ย

If you ever want to see a game destroyed and decided by umpiring, this was it.ย

ย

What an absolute travesty.ย
Geelong have mastered the throw and the maggots ore too scared to call it down there.ย
Definitely robbed the Lions.ย

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sundayโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • PREGAME: Fremantle

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
