Gil gettingย them off to a fast start. What a surprise.

The Saints are not the sort of team you want to get into a shootout with, even though it was only pre season Carlton put no defensive pressure on and paid for it

If I recall correctly they rarely traveled from the QLD base last year either.

And the umpires like them.

They play GWS first round at Giants stadium.....then Round 2 at Marvel against us being their first home game of the year making it that much harderย for us to getย a ticketย I'd say.ย

out of curiosity what was the attendance last night

thanks

PS I see the crowd was just over 10k (quite low)

Graphic on the footy last night had them at Marvel and the commentators made a point of saying first 3 games at Marvel.ย

looking at the fixture though you are correct.ย

Pre-season is always higher scoring for all teams, noย tags, though there seems to be more focus on attacking for at least the H&A, finals very different.

A Thursday night practise game DJ. Hardly an idea time.

Saints and Carlton are both "run and gun" style sides.ย  You're always going to see big scores when they play each other.ย  The question is whether they can hold up against a side that puts them under more pressure.ย

based on the bits and pieces i've seen tigers are miles better than the filth and have well and truly put the cue in the rack to allow the filth back into it

they've lost frontbum, will kelly, de goey, and possibly maynard to injury

games are too long - bring back the shorter quartersย ?

Agree. Richmond look primed. They always get such an even contribution across the board.

Mason Cox looked dangerous. Kicked 3 and could have had more if he held all his marks. If he can produce some consistent form heโ€™s a nightmare match-up for anyone.

I guess the thing is heโ€™s consistently inconsistent; has runs of form and has never maintained the rage for a full season

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
