Based on what I saw of last night, blues mids still don’t defend, McKay remains incredibly overrated, Hill and the Saints will love the zip of Docklands

They play their first 3 matches there.

Gil getting them off to a fast start. What a surprise.

The Saints are not the sort of team you want to get into a shootout with, even though it was only pre season Carlton put no defensive pressure on and paid for it

If I recall correctly they rarely traveled from the QLD base last year either.

They play GWS first round at Giants stadium.....then Round 2 at Marvel against us being their first home game of the year making it that much harder for us to get a ticket I'd say.

Graphic on the footy last night had them at Marvel and the commentators made a point of saying first 3 games at Marvel.

out of curiosity what was the attendance last night

thanks

PS I see the crowd was just over 10k (quite low)

A Thursday night practise game DJ. Hardly an idea time.

Saints and Carlton are both "run and gun" style sides.  You're always going to see big scores when they play each other.  The question is whether they can hold up against a side that puts them under more pressure.

based on the bits and pieces i've seen tigers are miles better than the filth and have well and truly put the cue in the rack to allow the filth back into it

they've lost frontbum, will kelly, de goey, and possibly maynard to injury

games are too long - bring back the shorter quarters ?

Agree. Richmond look primed. They always get such an even contribution across the board.

Mason Cox looked dangerous. Kicked 3 and could have had more if he held all his marks. If he can produce some consistent form he’s a nightmare match-up for anyone.

I guess the thing is he’s consistently inconsistent; has runs of form and has never maintained the rage for a full season

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
