Good to see you back posting after your delve into the rumour mill posting

Yes a few nasty words took place. Never stopped FD. Just out of action for a couple of days.

I still think Fritch should be the one groomed for the role as he has all the attributes needed for a good winger.  Whoever plays the role they are going to need to be developed specifically for the role opposite Langdon.

Seeing someone like Mitch Robinson become a gun winger makes me think we have to develop one here, really hope we are on to it!

Richmond doing the same with Caddy and Brisbane have evolved to similar with Berry and Ely Smith.

He’s not the quickest but I’m surprised Jordon hasn’t been given that exact task. I’m not convinced he what our on ballers need and think he might struggle at half forward (as most resting mids do)

By Feeding off the mids I meant standing outside the pack, recieving and running and kicking it to our forwards

I don't think its either/or. We could've still drafted Rosman, after picking up Smith. Rosman could've been taken under the tutelage of Smith and been primed in a year or two to take over. Smith is a vastly superior proposition for a flag tilt in the next 2/3 years, at his age and with his experience, than a new recruit. Then Rosman could've taken over and been one of our best in our 14th or 15th flags... But no guarantees on anything, Smith or Rosman. Just calculated risks... A 3rd years payment wasn't much of one in my opinion.

It smells to me like we aren’t happy with our wing options. That Baker and Harmes didn’t do what we needed and Rodman isn’t there yet. See how this bloke goes, no harm no foul.

Williams joined us 2 days before the draft. Probably too late to seriously influence our strategy, but maybe not too late for some influence into individual decisions.

Declase seems a "similar" type to Rossman in that he is a tall running winger. We don't have any other similar players on our list. Perhaps this is an opportunity to have a more developed mentor for Rossman in terms of how they play? And assuming Declase is more developed, it might also place some competition on that role as well, which is always a good thing.

Surprised our club (or any club) hasn’t seized the opportunity to monetise exclusive content post-Covid  e.g add another 10 bucks onto your membership every year and get 2 exclusive news pieces every week. I think a lot of members would pay for it / would help the club pay for some of these guys that perhaps we’ve taken for granted for too long.

Smart thoughts, you should consider a role in marketing, hopefully the MFC

I think you are expecting too much from club web sites. Have a look at other clubs. They are very similar. IMO the club web sites are for info on match day info and player / club fluff pieces. 95% of the the info is positive stuff aimed at promotion of club objectives. If you expect  more you will be disappointed.

Don’t want to look at other websites, only interested in ours..the marketing department is currently woeful. Not to tell us first, directly regarding Declase, is indeed pathetic in my opinion , I do expect better after 40 years as a member.....and the MFC needs its members .

After 40 years I would have thought you were well prepared for the MFC site.

I know nothing about him, but in the highlights he looks balanced and mobile and appears a nice mark and a long kick.

That's a good start when you are 195 cms.

As they say, continue improvement counts, and the MFC needs to do more....only decent thing on it currently is Gus and Gawny..even on there they could not name Declase....he may have class , but our website lacks it,,,

Yes but you don't sacrifice your40/50 goal scorer Gun for the wing.!!!

Fritta is far too valuable as a third or fourth option in attack.

Once Rosman gets going he will get his chance and IMO take it!

I think if we are creative enough it could be done and he may kick 20-30 goals from a wing and be far more valuable.  You could release Salem to a half forward flank, then put Bowey  playing off a half back flank.  If Salem was to get 10-15 touches in that role he would set up so much for us with his creativity.  We have tools to work with and try a few different things/set ups.  This hypothetical setup i don't think you would actually lose a great deal. Salem would probably kick 30+ if he was played there, Bowey would be fantastic off half back from what i seen in the B game(his disposal skills and speed/leap will equate to making at the next level imo, lock in for round 1) and i really think Fritch would make a good attacking winger.  He has played both defence and attack, he really works hard on repeat sprints/efforts. He is also a beautiful kick of the football most times.

Simon has a lot to work with, i believe that is why many are bullish about where this team can go.  I think we are in for some exciting times this season, as i would expect both Williams and Yze will have a large input on gameday as we start switching some magnets around to really make us an unpredictable and dangerous team for any opponent.

Looking forward to watching Rosman and his progress, he looks like he has a lot of assets and a great prospect and my gut feel is he will make it too.  Hopefully he gets a taste at some stage this year and really comes on over next few years.  Nice to have talent developing and not needing to get thrown to wolves as we would have in the past haha!

Don’t forget all - it was Choco whom suggested GWS take Ricardi when he was at Werribee .Therefore he knows his players, if indeed Declase turns out to be half as good as Ricardi, I will be extremely greatful to Choco .

half as good as a 5 game player? sheesh

Don't think Fritch has the tank for the wing.

Personal observation, XI, or online rumours?

I guess Mark Williams is clueless then.

I don't mind Choco but gee, there's a lot of unjustified fan boi type behaviour going down here.

Sounds like a type that we actually need so it begs the question, why wait until now? Has Choco been mentioning him for a while or has this come on the back of Neita’s ACL?

It doesn’t provide him with much time to stake his claim given the other players have been training with the squad for longer. Perhaps a bit of a chance to show something ahead of the mid season draft to give him things to work on in the meantime.

Think he is a shoe in being so late. Size and potential are mouth watering and Choco's judgement should be trusted.

Demons 11 last tine I looked You weren't on our selection panel nor coaching group!  Looks a likely type as long as he adjusts to the AFL atmosphere!

Size and X factor look irresistible on the highlights all be they are in a lower grade. Good luck Monday Kye.

Hopefully Rosman comes on during the season and our wing problems are solved. Looking for  more involvement on Monday early game. Huge upside when he gets his mojo going.

Yep....but he ( Riccardi) looks to have the makings of a very good player- top class and 100 games in him.
