He’s playing all up and down the ground and winning contested ball. 

Not a great quarter Richmond had too much of the ball but we pegged them back which was important. Lever outstanding.

- May/Lever combo looking better every week 

- desperately need to solve shutting down mobile forwaRd lines 

- apart from dropping Jones forward for a bit, nothing interesting being tried to cover for the Weid/Brown gap early in the year. Be brave. Oliver deep forward maybe?

- Harmes makes us look slow in the middle

One thing that is not ending is our premiership drought

Thankfully it is a practice match. Can see nothing to brighten my horizens.

Usual suspects making mistakes but the same can be said for Richmond.

The promise is the structure has looked good. The only easy goals for the Tigers have been from some really good crumbing on the back of some poor spoiling.

We’ve moved it between the arcs reasonably well and the shape around the clearances in particular is better.

Why we didn’t add some mature defensive depth is beyond me. Not sure Jetta and Hunt are the answers.

The coaches are spinning the forward and midfield magnets and something should shake out.

Thank goodness for Demonland. Some of us are working and can't be seen by our wives, I mean work colleagues, to be accessing the livestream. What's the relative strength of each side? In other words, which key players are missing for each team?

Harmes had a couple of stinkers but also made a few important spoils. 

Overall I’d still have him ahead of Baker who looks gassed after 5 minutes and can’t defend in the air at all.

I generally like your analysis Deespencer, but don't always understand it. What do you mean by "shape around the clearances"?

Only been able to see parts so far as working but Chandler has looked good? 
 

Also wouldn’t mind big Max spending a bit more time forward and Jacko in the ruck? Obviously Max rucking the majority but liked Max down there taking that big mark in the goal square late in that quarter

1) It looks like Goody has finally figured out there is no need to rush in new players just because they look good at training - Jones and Jetta get games, while our third year men - Jordan, Sparrow, Chandler and Baker all get game time ahead of younger rivals.

2) Lever strong in air, Spargo vision, Trac brilliance, Baker and Langdon tackling.

3) It seems when Tiger bigs get free kick or mark in middle of ground we will sag off and ignore manning mark - thereby forcing their bigs to make right attacking decision.

2nd term;

1) We saw the good and bad of Hunt. His opponent Castagna got off leash and is probably Tigers best. But Jayden provided run and dash and his one-two with Jordan and then long kick to T.Mac saw him take us from deep defence to forward line in an instant - Tiger defenders had no chance of switching to stop it. T.Mac missed shot - unusual for him.

2) Trac (our best quarter one) had shocking quarter with terrible disposal, Chandler and Jones running into space as small forwards impressive.

3) Gawn resting forward when Jacko goes on ball is huge and a point of difference that is exploiting Tiger defence.

Probably even in terms of best 22, hard to get a read on the value of our outs 

VERY difficult to tell which one was Hunt & which one was Langdon

Really need Rosman to rip this second half to bits. Baker had his moments but he's not the answer.

It’s not stacks on the mill for us whilst Richmond have free runners outside. It’s still a little like that. One Gawn contest at half forward had us at the drop whilst Cotchin camped corridor. But it’s not early 2020 or 2019 either 

Unfortunately its the same side dishing up more of the same. unless Ben Brown gets back quickly and Jackson Pickett and Rivers come on quickly it'll be another mid table finish.
