Demonland has its share of posters who appear to be list experts after the fact. I think it's time for people to show their skills beforehand. I'd like people to predict who will no longer be on our list at this time in 2022. In effect, who' going to retire, be traded, take  free agency option or be delisted. Here's your chance to show the rest of us your predictive skills. I'm not asking for justification, nor am I seeking a wish list of who you might like to see moved on. Here's my prediction of who won't be on our list as at January 2022:

  • Nathan Jones (ret)
  • Neville Jetta (ret)
  • Michael Hibberd (ret)
  • Kade Chandler (delisted)
  • Austin Bradtke (delisted)
  • Aaron Nietschke (delisted)
  • Jayden Hunt (traded at his request)
  • Oskar Baker (traded)
  • Mitch Brown (ret/delisted)

I understand this thread is a future source of reference for the hindsight police, but I’m not writing off players before the season has even begun. Especially the younger ones that should be encouraged.

That's exactly what it's for. (And a bit of fun, to boot.)

I’m not going to speculate on trades of contracted players, there’s too many variables. Who’s going to want T Mc, Gus or Hunt?

I do think Jones, Jetta, Hibberd, Vanders and Mitch Brown all retire.

If that’s the case we might have to keep a majority of the younger guys.

Smith, Lockhart, Hore, Baker, Bedford, Chandler, ANB, Nietschke, Bradtke, Jordon all on one year deals.

I’ll say Smith, Lockhart, Hore, Chandler, ANB, Nietschke, Bradtke stay on. Baker, Bedford, Jordon don’t.

I've had that feeling since 2019 that he might want a fresh start.

Another say-so season and he'll be traded for sure IMO.

@La Dee-vina Comedia I agree with your list, however I don't believe Baker finds a new home and am doubtful Hunt does either.

Also think we are in serious danger of losing Clayton should we not become serious finals contenders this year. For everyone's sake, I hope this is the year where it clicks

  • Nathan Jones (ret)
  • Neville Jetta (ret)
  • Michael Hibberd (ret)
  • Kade Chandler (delisted)
  • Austin Bradtke (delisted)
  • Aaron Nietschke (delisted)
  • Jayden Hunt (delisted/traded)
  • Oskar Baker (delisted)
  • Mitch Brown (ret/delisted)

I can't understand the hatred towards Baker he looked good at the end of the year.

Not sure how anyone could have any real reasonings or predictions on delisting or players to be moved on when the 2021 season is still to play out....

Two poster reckon AVB will be delisted?

tell em they’re dreamin!

T Mac will be traded

Hunt will also be traded out

Think there is 2-3 blokes that go past him in 2021, the longer quarters will go against him and he doesn't win enough ball

You can't afford to have someone in your starting 22 who is purely there to be physical and give away free kicks

doesnt push ahead of Oliver/Viney/Brayshaw/Harmes/Trac in our starting side and you'd think sparrow/jordon will get opportunities ahead of him too and jones to get to 300. doesn't really do enough anywhere else on the ground to justify selection when we are already heavy on bullocking tacklers who can't kick

Very close I would think though...

I have a hope (not a great one) that we can get another year (2022) out of Hibberd

Brayshaw is a conundrum

TMac will hopefully be traded (the only reason he wont be traded is because he has another bad year or he pushes out one of the other talls which would be another problem in itself)

Baker and Hunt.. no real feel but more likely Hunt goes (did we give him 2 years... not sure why)

On the delists... we haven't really seen much of any of them and therefore seems harsh but that's AFL level footy

Ok, I'm here :)

Nathan Jones (Ret): I think this is almost a guarantee.
Toby Bedford (Delisted): He's had his time to earn a spot and hasn't taken it.
T.McDonald (Delist or trade): Going by how hard we tried to trade him I think he will be gone. Needs to kick 35-40 goals to keep his spot on the list.
J.Jordan (Delist): Too slow.
S.Goodwin: Sacked before round 8.
N.Jetta (trade): Trade for a late pick.
A.Bradtke (Delist)
Baker: Staying on. We're one of the slowest teams in the comp. You don't trade your quickest players when you're as slow as us. Neale-Bullen (traded to a SA team)
Neitschke (Delist and rookied)

Count yourselves lucky
Hore, Hibberd, Vandenberg, Neal-Bullen to stay on for one more.

why would we delist neitschke and re-rookie again? he can just remain as a rookie for another 2 years now that he's on that list.

also that means ur confident in jsmith and mbrown getting new deals im intrigued please tell us more xx

Yeah I rate Joel Smith. I don't understand people's criticism of him.

And yeah correction. Mitch Brown (delisted).

If Bedford, T-Mac and Jordan aren’t getting games for us, they are not getting games elsewhere

You do realise that T-mac had interest in the last trade period?

Also,  I said Bedford and Jordan were to be delisted so I don't know what you were looking at.

So that's it from the self- proclaimed great sooth-sayer?

  • Jones to retire - oh boy wowee!
  • TMac to be traded - yeah great revelation!
  • Jetta traded - or will that be retired
  • Bedford a 2 gamer to be delisted
  • Jordon and Bradtke who haven't played a game to be delisted
  • M.Brown a fringe depth rookie to be delisted
  • Goodwin to be sacked R8

Way to go out on a limb with some radical unthought of predictions!

This poster has claimed that he is a list management expert who can see things that others cannot see.  I am simply calling him on his claim.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
