We can't even get $*&^ from any governmet, and they get as much as they want.

Why is the govenmet not helping all clubs?

Disgusting. It frustrates the hell out of me.  
Is it that cookie is better at applying for grants than the rest? Or is there a hope to get a sporting event in the near future and Gmhba is required for a tender bid?

it's handy to be in a marginal seat at state and federal level

Just a view from the outside but is this perhaps just one of the benefits of being a swing constituency ? I'd be more concerned if it was a privately owned facility. It's not like money is being poured into a white elephant as the place is packed for every Geelong game and the stadium is part of a much bigger sports precinct. I don't doubt that it provides the Geelong Football Club with a big match day profit but you'd think that some element of that would find it's way back into government coffers via the Kardinia Park Trust.

Decent question. Football is a business and Geelong gets a very good return on that stadium.

Sure there's community benefit but that pales by comparison to the business returns to Geelong.

Hey DJ. Yeah, that's a fair point too. Everyone's a winner it seems. It's just important that the Geelong Football Club are sufficiently 'neutered' financially in the name of fairness to the AFL competition.

Talk about getting a free ride. How much money have the Cats pilfered in total now to fund KP?

Whilst we will get a recommendation that Governments will support for our new home, but will get SFA funding for.

We need to get into Dan’s ear about how building our base will be good for jobs and his mates in the construction industry.

Geelong has so many advantages:

-Major GOVT financial  support

- benefit of rural/Coast lifestyle & much lower property prices
- coastal football nursery
- largest home ground advantage 

- least away game disadvantage 
They should always make finals!

Of the games I've watched on TV down there I remember seeing our faithful attendees shunted to the flank halfway back into the stands. Looked like they only let approximately 100 members in while Geelong fans occupy everywhere else including behind both goals. Surely this needs to change, it's a bad look and reflects poorly on Geelong in my opinion.

No...that's the biggest seller of all... artificially created scarcity and why it's a great money spinner in the form of reserved seats. Adelaide have mastered this art.

Geelong probably need a crowd of near 85k at the MCG to match what they could get from 40k at Kardinia Park

Sure, I understand the financial incentive for Geelong. Just wish they could allow a larger portion of seating for opposition fans. Probably wouldn't bother me if we didn't play down there pretty much every year. Wonder what the ground experience would be like with 99% crown dominance. Or vice versa. Guess our Adelaide and Perth fans would know.

After thought question. Is there some sort of rules or legislation that demands some grounds have general admission seats? They have members, why don't they make every seat reserved or a variant of and prevent any opposition fan from getting in?

More fiscal stimulus in the way of an unbacked dollar to "boost jobs and the economy". Watch the cost of living rise (inflation) as we all secretly pay for it.

I wouldn't mind a much higher inflation, deflates the true cost of my mortgage against a rising salary.   Pretty much how people quickly paid off houses until the recession we had to have.  Yes interest rates would be higher but I'd be getting faster pay rises.
