So what I don't get - is the fact that there is a perspective that Goodwin listens to....

  • no one
  • and he is stubborn

Ergo, if this is all true, irrespective of who is brought in, he will still

  • listen to no one
  • andhe is still stubborn

If this is all true...

then those appointing Yze (or whoever) are either really [censored] dumb (because irrespective of who is appointed...yadda yadda yadda), or perhaps the mythology that Goodwin listens to no one, is simply mythology.

I recall a scene in the box toward the end of the year, Richardson was chatting with Goody, waving his arms about as if, perhaps, suggesting a move of one kind or another. Next week, Richardson was notably absent, not just from the box but apparently the game..... Doo dee dadaa, doo dee dada....

Adem Yze being a Melbourne person is one thing, and, probably the least important attribute.

He would come with strengths and experience that we do not currently possess enough of, most notably;

  • Opposition analysis
  •  kicking coaching and
  • Game day strategy

I couldn't give a rats if he was Tony Antrobus, if someone was available that possessed these attributes, we'd be stupid not to chase him.

He absolutely ticks all the boxes.

How do we know he ticks all the boxes?

Such a stupid view to hold...

Hall of fame players... without premierships

  • Haydn Bunton Sr
  • Roy Cazaly
  • John Kennedy Sr (none as player)
  • Tony Lockett
  • Kevin Murray
  • Bob Skilton

And this was from the time when the rich clubs could buy the best players to add premierships to their names...

And then there's those players in the cue to join the Hall of fame, including a player I rank as the best I've ever seen in Garry Ablett Sr...

I reckon if your list of players you deem to be "not a true great." includes the above list of champions, it's time consider "what the hell am I talking about?"

I remember seeing Ablett live as a kid. I remember being shocked at the size of his legs. So thick. So strong. Maybe that's why he didn't play in a premiership team...? In fact, maybe that explains why all those players can't be considered 'great.' Held back by leg girth. Now that I think of it, Lockett's legs were just outrageously big....

Whaddya think, Coq?

Name a single radio or tv commentator that would not have Garry Ablett Snr in his top players of all time list?

Just one, of the "many" will suffice...

Weird angle you're working here.

even weirder when this thread is about yze as an assistant coach

is he saying assistant coaches (and presumably senior coaches) need to have been "great" players who have previously won a premiership as a player?

I see there's a new resident i-diot.

(Shocked i-diot is censored - or am I)

Based on corrections in this and other threads, and a quick check of an Albanian dictionary, I would like to confirm a crucial fact -

It's Y'ze, not Yze.
