Weideman 1 goal in the final 4 games, a terrible effort.  Has no urgency.

T Mac is finished.

Luke Jackson may or may not be a key forward but hes still a teenager either way.

Mitch brown is the best tall forward on our list as he showed today and hes 30.

We need to recruit a gun KPF this trade period or 2021 will be another waste of everyones time.

Probably a stretch to say he’s going to be a gun, but really liked Petty forward. If he recovers I would throw him forward next year.

Yes, Petty has real promise (after a terrible start). But I suspect its down back.

Why not, it is by far our most pressing need.

Certainly need more forward potency - more so than midfielders (about whom people are obsessed).

We have a lot of trade/draft threads where we all get to express our opinion on our biggest needs. But whatever.

That was easily Brown's best game for his time with us and among his best of his career.  He has had a scattering of very good games over the years and an interest patch of great form late in 2016. The main effect I think that effort will have is to increase the chances of McDonald being traded, but by the same token, Brown isn't about to become a standing heavy forward target for us, even short term.

Preuss is a big body but doesn't seem to have the 'presence' we'd want.

The problem is clearly real, but the solution isn't obvious.  I wouldn't trust any of the potentially tradeable 'star' key forwards to fill the hardworking and strong bodied slot we need.  Not Daniher, not Cameron, not Brown.

Where are we going to get our Cameron Mooney?

Meanwhile, just for a laugh at beautiful irony, we are very much hoping that Jesse Hogan kicks a bag to put as in finals.

The Weid will be alright struggling a bit ATM but at least he is bringing it to ground. Will be better with Jackson in the side.

Jackson and Petty weren't playing today, let's just see what they can do ...

Weid was very strong in the contest today and has had a good year.

What are our options?

TMac comes good and we keep him

Ben Brown - good lead and overhead mark

Jesse Hogan - get him Burgess fit and back amongst his mates

Jeremy Cameron - expensive and question on value for money

Jeremy Finlayson - v similar to Weideman

Any others?

You have my vote it is easily our most pressing need. Easy to say but they don't grow on trees sadly.

He has not had a strong year!

Do you actually watch the games?

He is starting to look like a dud in my opinion.

No craft or footy intelligence cannot get near the ball can't lead and has a very weak body for a man of his size

I'm not sure he has the stomach for the contest

How old is Brown?

Jezza would demand too much coin.

Finlayson just signed a contract.

This is the year to get one.

With daniher, brown and Cameron all available this is really a chance to pounce.

Cameron is the one I would be going hard for.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
