Off topic considering the tone of the thread, but thoughts on Sparrow to half time?  Thought he's looked alright and has a bit of dash about him.  I think he is worth persisting with going forward.

I have liked his input so far.

Tough little nugget too.

If ANB is getting suspended, tell him to over and belt that little sniper McHenry.  Has been going at Gawn all game.

By the way cue the person telling us to chill out and we're 5 points up etc

First play of the second half Brayshaw overruns the ball and Adelaide send it forward

Adelaide supporters booing poor umpiring decisions is a bit rich.

But not surprising in the slightest.

Langdon really doesn't like kicking goals.

Langdon cannot buy a goal.

Cannot kick either.

The muppets probably think it's coming from the Melbourne supporters at the game, and subsequently rewarding the Crows for it

HOw can you miss

Lever has the stitching imprinted on his chest

So they've replaced his heart, but not his brain. Great.

Yeah, "Dermie what would you.do facing this young fella Jackson in the ruck right now. Well I'd lead with the knee and make him earn it."

Oh let’s look after the players... flo gs

Brayshaw devoid of confidence at the moment. 4 touches at 25% at half time.

Bennell has offered nothing.

Can someone please tell me roughly where / what role Bennel is playing?

Hard to tell from side on viewing.

I would play Tomlinson down back to replace Lever.  Allow Lever to place the loose role that he loves.

Bring Harmes to the Tomlinson wing and rotate him with Bennel.

What is ANB bringing to the table,  if anything, so far?  AVB is also a worry.

Jones has to play HF in small bursts off the bench or not at all.  His kicking inside 50 or anywhere higher up the field is atrocious.

Where do you hide Melk****e?   Time to go unless he kicks 2 or 3 in this 2nd half.

Tracc into the middle with Clarry & Gus.  Gus needs a rocket from SG.  Perform or you wont be back for a while, if ever mate.

Viney to go forward for Melk rotating with Chunk (off the bench...nowhere else fcs)

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
