Wayne Bennett suspended from coaching Souths this weekend against his old mob the Broncos after breaching covid protocols. ( eating in a restaurant with wife).

I'm still unsure how Bucks was able to coach last round

Reallly?  Remind me, what club does he coach?  Who is their president?

He admitted fault cos he had some fault in it. Hardly think it's this conspiracy some are trying to make it out to be.

Cleary actually broke an AFL Media protocol of not reporting the names of family members who break protocol.

Perhaps a bit less speedy with the insults and outrage until all the facts come out.

Even then, not sure why the insults are necessary tbh.

Nev this post is not directed at you but at the highlighted point you raised.

Every reporter that reported on the story has named Ms Cotchin, have they been suspended?

Ms Cotchin outed herself.

I cannot see how reporting on a public post leads to Cleary's suspension, all the suspension does is draw more attention to Ms Cotchin.

The stupidity of people that post photos of themselves breaking rules/laws staggers me. They deserve whatever comes their way.

I note that Cleary admitted doing the wrong thing, I suspect he wants to continue AFL reporting.

I guess it's a bit like an embargo, once the first person has reported it then it's 'out there'. Also, not every reporter is employed by AFL media and has the same agreed rules as them.

Totally agree she outed herself and it was dumb. I also think a warning to Cleary would have been more than enough.

Cleary did the wrong thing and admitted it. I don't get why people are making up conspiracies about something so simple.

More players break the rules: covid-breach-port-stars-set-to-cop-bans-after-entertaining-visitors

Should get the same suspension as young Elijah Taylor of the Swans:  out for the season (plus solitary confinement in his room for 14 days to quarantine).

Throw the book at them.  If they miss playing in finals bad luck!

Idiots for risking the competition.

I am sure I remember early on in this COVID season planning there was discussion that any breaches (by players, officials or WAGS) would result in immediate end of season for the offenders,  however as some of the higher profile breaches involved Collingwood and Richmond high profile individuals, nothing meaningful has happened.

Now would it be different for example if ANB had committed a breach (of course before he was suspended)?

If it was AVB he'd be put to the guillotine

Why weren't we awarded the four points when Essendon could not take the field?

Because that isn’t in the script.

Big chance it would have been if the roles were reversed.

That is in the script.

Wait and see the next ANB type tackle and if it’s a name player, watch the way it is differentiated and penalised.

I'm so sick of hearing the term 'WAGS' whenever I hear it I don't get the impression of innocent family and wife I just think of spoiled idiots that have no idea that being in the hub is a privilege and not a right. Any story that contains that term is usually nothing but trouble.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
