We had quite a number of players who played well over 10 games that should also be on this list.

Hoped the intermittently amazing Les Bamblett qualified but i missed by one game !   Mark Bradly was spruiked as our next top ruck prospect but with knee issues only managed four games .

we could have a most forgettable 100 games player quiz?

You'll need to think this through. The moment someone remembers a player, they've effectively disqualified themselves from winning the quiz because they've just proven that the player was not forgotten.

Darren Kowel, Anthony Dullard, Alistair Nicholson, Peter Walsh, Matthew Bate and dare I say it..... Jack Grimes.

Adrian Battison (96) just misses out.

James Cook. 8 goals after his first two games with us. He was injured early in his third and final game. Anyone with a better goal average for under 10 games?

I know he played more than 10 games, but as an aside, Allan Jacovich kicked 50 goals in his first 9 games. Including 8.8 in the 4th game and 11.8 in 9th game. What a freak.

Rate him as the most exciting player I've seen in red and blue.

I was very disappointed when Dom Barry left.  I was understanding why he left as a young bloke but he had the skills and pace to make it. Could he still return? Depending on his motivation and will. It would be quite a story.

I remember people saying Weetra was going to be a good player, but when he finally got a game, and I finally got to see him play, I groaned.

We've done quite well with our trading with Adelaide over the years: Ingerson, Vince, Vardy (though not nearly enough games) and one of my favourites the unlucky Matty Collins (I just rewatched some of our game from 2000 on youtube ?), but there were also forgettable busts: Jace Bode (9 games), John Meesen (4) and Nick Pesch (4).

Other recycled players I remember over the journey that never quite reached the heights the club hoped for were:

Trevor Spencer from Essendon, 3 games

Gary Moorcroft from Essendon, 3 games

David Grant from St Kilda, 7 games

Wayne (the Moose) Henwood from Sydney, 1 game

'Rocket' Rod Owen from St Kilda, 9 games

Steven Pitt from Collingwood/Western Bulldogs, 5 games

Danny Seow from Collingwood, 7 games (traded for Glenn McLean if I remember correctly).

Michael Pickering played too many games (15) to qualify, but never regained the lofty heights he had ascended to at Richmond.

The other one who was slightly before my time, but was my PE teacher in High School was Mark McKeon (6 games) who ended up being a runner at Collingwood and was responsible for escorting a certain Magpies Reserves player off the ground in a televised match on Sunday arvo (Army Reserve Cup) after he head butted an umpire and then jumped the fence to have a go at one of the spectators. The commentary from Ray 'Slug' Jordan is 80s footy folklore!

Power recruiting by past Demons Admins,  right there..  geez we know footy at Melbournefc.

Never thought of Hughes as a Key Forward. Always thought he was more of a flanker.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
