I met him in a cafe yesterday and asked him about his and the club’s future.

He distinctly said he had another year of contract ahead??‍♂️

I asked him if he had any explanation for our abysmal year and he put it down to the horrendous preseason .

He said he’d heard nothing about any player unrest, though obviously he wouldn’t have admitted anything to me

3 word analysis: lied to face.

Roos was certainly a fan of Rawlings.

I think this is a loss, however perhaps none of us actually know who of the assistant coaches is actually any good or not.

If Goodwin refuses to listen to anyone, maybe Plapp, Chaplin, etc. are all amazing, they just haven't been heard.

McCartney, Jennings, and Rawlings are those with experience and credibility, so it makes sense that they're the first to depart, whether pushed or not, as future job prospects are brighter than those of the others.

More changes sounds ominous, but from what I've been told not unexpected either. Pert seems to have the big broom out.

This is just pure guesswork.

Melbourne FC are screwed. Alan Richardson, Ed Langdon and whoever else will not right this ship. Guarantee that we won’t make a Grand Final until we have a Senior Coach like Alastair Clarkson.

Is there any coaching position that is untouched other than Goodwin? Every position has been changed or personnel  moved on.

Yet according to some here our performance in 2019 is nothing to do with coaching - its all our injuries and surgeries. Those people look pretty stupid now.  This is the biggest  1 year cleanout of coaching staff in the AFL for probably a decade

Sadly we are stuck with Goodwin. The cause of it all.

Try two years, since the Tigers. You like hyperbole, don't you mate?

I would go along with that.

Really appreciated Jades involvement at MFC, 8 years is a long time for an assistant coach and he has helped the club out in a number of roles. Good luck in the future Jade we may get to see you as a senior coach in your own right one day. All the best and thank you for your resilience, I have never heard you being bagged on DLand and that say's a lot about your performance in your various roles.

About the coaches? Yep, absolutely is a guess. Just throwing up a different perspective.

A guess about Goodwin? I'm not the one stating that, I'm just suggesting that if it is true, who knows which coaches are any good..

May still end up being our Senior Coach in 3 years.

Haven't you heard.. he's a wheeler and dealer in the world of international soccer.

Now that Bomber Thompson is cleared of drug trafficking he would be available.

Yes agreed. Bring in Yzeeeee

If we can't Yze we could pursue Yzeuss as a backup option and he can bring Kardashians along to training and games.

I would've thought getting credit for a forward line turnaround would've been good on the CV and if we really wanted him we could've extended his contract and given him a choice of roles to further his career.

Agree with a lot of what you said mate, it's hard for us to know from the outside though.

Can't agree with the above though. He made it known he wanted to coach his own side for his own coaching development, but we dragged him back into the fold and his team ended up missing finals. None of that would have been what he had wanted for his career progression. He's now left so that seems clear.

He was already contracted. So why would we be extending him more than a year out? And he already had a choice of roles, that's why he took over at Casey.

I am not interested in hyperbole. I asked my source some direct questions

”What is the relationship between Richo and Goodwin like?

the Answer i got

”Goodwin has been told he is on borrowed time unless things change...”

Lol, yeah, and I'm Simon Goodwin

Thanks for your service Jade. He seemed to play a bit of the grey-man, I never heard too much about him. For the more informed, do you think we under utilised him?

Possibly. It won’t fester for long

The feeling i did get is that The Board are not impressed and they are behind a lot of changes, which i was glad to hear...

Good luck Jade.

I think we're going to miss ya.

We've lost a good 2IC.

Hope they get rid of the Muppets.

Hyperbole is polite, again, nothing I've heard says Goodwin can't work with people

Not in a decade, the year before tiger premiership when they got rid of every assistant and started again.

Is that the same source who told you Adam Simpson gave 4 coaches votes to Gaff  in the game where he broke Brayshaw's jaw? Only for Ross Lyon to confirm he gave them? Lol

That is in stark contrast to what I have been told, and if some idiot inside the club has told you that he needs to be kicked out.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
