Watch the Pressure early tonight. Finals

how many of our list are up to it?

Er...Jones?

McGrath is a cracking player

Small forwards. Rioli and Ryan kicking goals and have set up most of the goals/scoring shots.

Wingman. Gaff and Jetta gut running through the middle of the ground.

Ruck/midfield coheasion. Natanui tapping to advantage and down midfielders throats.

KPF. Kennedy, Darling and Waterman taking marks i50 and kicking straight.

All the above are things the MFC lacked in 2019.

Anyone else find these sort of nicknames childish and tedious or is it just me?

No everyone sticks it up us constantly.

Give it to the p@%@k$ they've earned it and most of their supporters wouldn't think twice before rubbing our face in the dirt.  Particularly the scumsters.

Totally Agree RN. There isn't a team i despise more than the Scum.

Hopefully the Eagles continue the rout. Just making up the numbers are the druggies, they got there but they may as well not have.

Great ??

What a combo forward line Darling, Kennedy talks and Rioli and Ryan.

Match up nightmare.

Should've left with Dennis. Wait then we'd be left only with BT, Darce and Ling.

Richo gets a reprieve in my book, loved his emotion when he realised the tigs were gonna win it in 2017 (might happen again this year)

Amazing WC ? got away with it all

Players flat Lining and some dying. Benny still pinging around from trouble to trouble.

Worsfold, a trained Chemist totally oblivious to the mayhem around him...Not.

The last GF i have been to was 2006. Great game, but Meth Coke could have played another game, they were that juiced. Tonight the Chemist Coaches against them.

The irony....

”Bex is Better”

Let's not forget his mate Gardiner who was in it up to his 'Coffin Cheater' colours!

Throw in the underrated Jamie Cripps as well mono, a real goal poacher. Massive headaches for defences.

Does anyone else think the bye between Round 23 and the first weekend of finals kills off interest, at least for neutral supporters? I've spoken to a few avid AFL supporters whose teams didn't make the finals, and we all agree that interest levels haven't just dropped but have virtually disappeared.

For balance, I note that Gil MaClalchlan has said that since the bye was introduced, TV ratings, spectator numbers and (I think) revenues have all increased. It is a small sample (of seasons), and could be distorted by the teams playing, but it's only fair that I point out what he claims to be evidence which supports the bye.

The bye has certainly lessened my already waning interest.  Yet another typical AFL knee jerk reaction to Lyon’s failed tactic of resting his key players in a dead final round.  It was tried once, and failed, but they made the change anyway.

Clueless.

Being overseas at present it only just struck me that there is only one match this weekend in Melbourne.

Is this a first for the first round of the finals.

And if whining Scott had his way there would be no games at the home of football!

From what I took from the “Brayshaw had a great season” article earlier in the week I wouldn’t be certain that they feel that the season was all that bad ?

Well I wasn't aware that WCE were shielded - I don't live in WA and journos elsewhere didn't bring it to my attention.   I'm not sure which is worse - a cover up of possible offences or excuses (and worse) made for the proven guilty.  Actually I do in terms of the effect on me - Essendon was particularly grating, especially after we got pilloried for tanking when lots of others had tanked, some more blatantly.  Essendon didn't need to try to make that 'defence' before journos were falling over themselves to protect and bolster them!

Wasn't having a go Sue @McQueen @Bobby McKenzie @Ethan Tremblay can all tell you how bad the media are over here. They never say anything against the Eagles

The West Australian and Channel 7 WA are absolute cheerleaders and the continued worship for Cousins, Kerr etc is an embarrassment

Happy to say I got the Liam Ryan call wrong, never thought he'd put the hard yards in to play consistent footy at this level

Credit to him and the hardwork put in by Phil Narkle and Ryan

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
