So my sister just texted me to say the Facebook pages are saying Petracca and Salem have asked to be traded. Am I a bit slow on the uptake here?

Which Facebook group?

Just looked at a few (mostly garbage ones) and saw nothing.

Aren't they all garbage?

And waiting for more confirmation. Have asked her again where exactly she heard it.

If 17 post season surgeries doesn’t hinder your preseason, half the team requesting trades might.

We couldn’t even have one day to digest this crapola of a season before trade talk fired up.

It seems a bit of a stretch.  Salem re-signs in March, then without any rumour at all, seeks a trade in Day 1 of the off-season. https://www.triplem.com.au/story/christian-salem-signs-two-year-contract-extension-with-melbourne-130712 .

Salem said he couldn't see himself not re-signing with Melbourne.

“It got done pretty quickly,” he told Melbourne Media.

“I probably wasn’t too fussed about it, as I knew it was going to happen eventually – it was just a matter of when.

I can't recall a big trade coming without months of rumour leading into it...

Agreed. I initially said the same thing about Petracca who said he loved the club earlier this season. Something has to go drastically wrong for you to request a trade 23 weeks later.

Slow on the uptake that the Facebook pages are 99% crap?

Then yes.

Trac is our Stokes.

We should make sure he knows the glory will be greater with us.

He played one hell of a test match.

Isn’t it prohibited for clubs to approach opposition players during the season?

Officially yes, however the league lets you do pretty much whatever you want to a degree. It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Are you Saty 2.0?

Haha fair call when I read back what I wrote.

Difference is I don't come here later and say 'I knew that but couldn't tell you', after things happen.

My SISTER just TEXTED me to say the FACEBOOK PAGES ARE SAYING Petracca and Salem have ASKED TO BE TRADED.

Everyone have a think about that chain of information.

It’s almost as good as ‘someone told me they heard on radio’.

Definition of Chinese whispers anyone...

Stuie’s Facebook page..! Bahahaha.

Can we have a rule that rumours from Facebook can’t be forwarded to Demonland? Let’s not lower ourselves to the standards of Facebookers. I don’t have or read Facebook or Twitter for the reason of them being absolute rubbish.

This is all crap. The cats may be “into him” but the chances of Petracca leaving this year are Buckley’s.

Oh Really, who would you rather play with at the moment a Team who consistently plays finals or us "Flash in the Paners"??

Is meeting with Collingwood as well apparently. Not sure if it is him personally, or just his management.

Not saying he's gone of course, but it seems like it's more than just the usual manager posturing.

Rumour of course, so you're welcome to believe or not.

Edit - Apologies, the meeting is happening this week, so post edited.

Another team will turn Petracca into a star.

I would cry myself to sleep if I was a top 10 pick drafted by the Dees and I grew up dreaming about playing for the Dees.

I like the suggestion.

How about #ETthetradewhisperer?

You're on Tier 0 with the club.  In fact I'd trust you more than the club to be honest.

For those who are Petracca fans the good news is that I haven’t heard any whispers of him requesting a trade, and if he had, I would know. #ETthetradewhisperer #Hehearseverything.

Mum's uncle's cousin's friend's cab driver's brother's neighbour's nephew is also up there.

Still more reliable than Stuie’s Facebook page.

Trac wont go, but like lots of things, we have 1 year to sure everything up, the mass exodus may not be this year, but it will be next year if we are still a  basketcase.

This was some rubbish rumor posted by some Nuff named Stu on his Melbourne News page. It's complete BS!

Thanks ET

I am in the camp that I will keep my powder dry until there is an official word.

I personally don't want to lose Trac, I think he has shown some glimpses of a great talent (just needs to put together a season).

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
