Melbourne is at least consistent. We’re consistently bad unlike Essendon and North who are [censored] one week and perfect the next.

Brown’s kicked 9 goals from 9 kicks with another quarter to go.

10 now and people on here don’t want him.

Total madness!!!

Port worse than us this week but they won't cop the blowtorch.

They will across the Border!

I reckon they will in Adelaide. Infuriating performance this season, same with The crows

What is going on? Nth kick 1 goal for the whole match last week, tonight they come across a team who has been in good form and can suddenly kick 22 goals and win by 86 points. Gee the 2 SA teams have had a shocker.

Ugh so it looks like essenscum are going to play finals. My god this weekend has really turned to [censored]. I guess our best hope it they lose week 1 meaning they still haven't won a final for so ling.

Seriously is Ross Lyon going to cop some heat to?

Lol, Crows and Port both on exactly 103% and Crows get 8th at the moment because....anyone know? Head to head is 1-1 with Port having the greater winning margin between the 2.

Brown and Larkey 15 goals between them. I hope the airports are fogbound for the entire next  week and we forfeit or our flight gets highjacked to North Korea.

So who will people be barracking for in the finals? Seriously if the dogs can get in I will be going for them but I'm not a fan of any melbourne teams in there. Personally I could handle a WC/Brisbane Gf. The interstate team can then fly home, we don't have to hear a lot about it and we can put this season behind us forever.

anyway back to the cricket. It's a shame some of our leaders don't look to see how Steve Smith plays for his country. Yes I know what happened a year ago wasn't great leadership but the way he has stood up in these tests has been great to watch.

Get Ed Langdon please.

The bloke’s turning into a gun.

yep, it's almost at the point based on his output in a pretty poor dockers side that our second round pick for him would be good value

Essendon losing stoppages 30-18, clearances 41-26 hitouts 54-15 and free kicks 23-7. These are stats from Jon Ralph's twitter. How are freo losing this? Also freo lead inside 50's 54-45. I know they are inaccurate tonight but come on.

Gee it would be nice to skip the country for the next month and a bit. This finals series is not going to be enjoyable. Full of teams I cannot stand. Ugh

Adelaide are 102.98

Port are 102.97

That explains it then thanks, my apologies. The ladder i saw had them both on 103

One of the best send offs we have seen in awhile. Fair enough to. Who would really be able to carry big Sandilands off.

Look at the way Nought play for pride...

When did we finish a season like that?

it has been many years.

What were your feelings regarding North last week SWYL? When they kicked one goal for the entire match? Or regarding Essendon, Port, the Giants and Adelaide and in recent weeks when they've copped heavy losses - teams with something actually on the line? Are they more or less pea-hearted than the MFC?

Essendon guaranteed finals, Carlton winning and Melbourne getting flogged the weekend couldn’t get any worse.

That’s why we will offer a first round pick for him. We’ll keep the second rounder for Hill and both will spend the majority of 2020 in rehab.

We should also be chasing the only bloke on Brisbane’s list who’s injured at the moment.

They bounced back mate

how often do the MFC do that?

we set our own standards, it has to stop otherwise we won’t make it

Cracking games today. Richmond v WC will go either way, I hope the doggies can get up and knock the crows of 8th and it's Roughy's farewell game. A shame its at 4:40 at marvel against GC but you would hope the hawks fans will show up to farewell a great player of there club.

If a team can beat West Coast they will win the premiership. Are strong all over the ground. Seem to just pick guns at will decade after decade. How do they do it? Evenness in the comp is a myth.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
