Amazing how many dumb footballers we have always trying to take the tackle instead of giving off first option.

We are a [censored] joke

A lot of angry people here tonight...

To be fair, though - it's a BIG ASK for 17 to beat 15th on the ladder. Clearly daylight between these two teams!

I was asking as i thought he was easily our best in the first part of the first quarter BA.

He’s gone missing this qtr, Swans KIDS are running rings around us.

And people shot down my thread about needing a rebuild. Love for those people to tell us now where our improvement is going to come from.

Does the presence of his best mate, Jarred Roughead, in the crowd tell us that maybe this is Lewis’ last game in Melbourne?

Yep, and Roaming Brian before game was a bit of a giveaway

Captain jnes zero tackles for a half while swans have laid 40 to 20 of them

These players checked out a month ago , can’t wait for season to end.

All that effort the last two seasons to rebuild our credibility, we are now a laughing stock again.

3 goals in a half of footy, at home, against 15th on the ladder is pitiful.

Yet we beat them earlier in the year.

So, I'm not generally in the "sack Goodwin" camp, although I do think he's under massive pressure, but can someone explain something to me?

Why pick one of the smallest teams ever, and then make the game plan slow and long down the line?

It's Friday night, I can't believe I'm watching this.

It is the logic that is Goodwin.

And that sums it up, but by all means blame the coach

Poor efforts all round but at the end of the day he has to cop his share of blame.

Anyone else foaming in anticipation at Goodwins member video after the game?

Members appreciation round off to a superb start as always.

That worries me even more. We've gotten worse (remembering we had to 'gel' and get fit after not playing much footy in the off season).

I know what you're saying, but our position is set in stone.

This is a disgrace, completely ignoring basic structure as an AFL head coach.

It has rained a little and preuss is useless

Salem being crucified...Saty?

Really are we surprised with the team we have out there?

4 midgets and we bomb it high and can’t stick a tackle.

Very predictable.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
