Don't disagree - but for whatever reason, he's often a really poor decision maker once he gets it.

Possibly  simply the difference  in pace and pressure of Bigboys v magoos. He just seems to undo a lot of reasonable work with half baked disposals.  A shame

Can’t beleive we payed 2 first rounders for Lever. Is constantly in no mans land.

You don't have to, because in the total trade, we didn't.

But carry on.

You obviously missed where he turned the ball over and cost us a goal. JKH no future at all

Name one of his teammates who hasn’t done that this season.

The pattern of starting Jones (as wing) and then having him shuffle across to CHB, whilst the HBF moves to between CHB and the centre circle is very pretty; doesn’t do any good of course.

Similar to Stretch in that regard. I sometimes think (hope ...) that with these kinds of players it'll come with experience, but not the case so far with either of them.

JKH been good in close, played well so far apart from that one bad turn over. If you want to write him off for a mistake like that send most of this team on their way as well.

We would be as close to par with the current Pies forward line as you are ever likely to see in this team's generation coach and they blew us away in 20 minutes of bog ordinary footy.

If you wish to delude yourself that everything will be fine because a year date will change on a calender that is your prerogative.

Oscar into the ruck and HF?  What  possible benefit / message is that sending the rest of the playing group?

I know what i would be thinking.

Maybe we should rename ourselves the Melbourne Excuses?  How about the DumbAzzes?  The Rabbles?

I’m as annoyed as you rusty about where we sit however your shotgun approach to the issue may not be as effective as you think in correcting the situation.

How the [censored] is that advantage. Maynard stood still. It needs to be ‘flowing’

You pick up only on his turnovers.

I don't get it.

Yes, he most definitely needs to tidy up his kicking at times but think about how many goals or opportunities at goal he has saved by either making a genuine killer spoil, intercept marking or out-bodying his opponent to mark.

Lever has been very very good this game aside from a few kicking blunders.

Yes he has done sone good tgings. As he should given his ability and paycheck.

But a very, very good game?

We must have different metrics for a defender. Has cost us 4 goals in s low scoring game we are down by 3 goals.

Endeavour was promising in the first quarter, although the goal kicking was the same rubbish. Then it went back to handpasses to no one, gifting the opposition easy marks, not holding tackles. Varcoe did nothing until that ball fell in his hands courtesy of a bad Melbourne kick. Poor umpiring as per usual. Grrrrrrrrr.....?

You need to watch more closely.

He most certainly hasn't cost us four.

Maybe concentrate on Oscar. Did you see his turning circle just then?

This is just too tragic to keep watching.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
