Come on mate, you go out of your way to find things to whinge about and criticise the club continually.  I doubt there is a single Demon fan who is happy with what has transpired this season,  but bleating on an internet forum doesn't help anybody.   Unless it makes you feel better?  Or maybe you're just a troll?

All comes down to interpretation sue.

No, DOX, I think you extrapolated rather than interpreted what he actually said.  Your extrapolation may well be right (I have no idea) but it was beyond the literal meaning of his words.

I think he should focus on answering with just mature supporters in mind and not worry about the media.

And where does he find them?

Agree totally. But he has to put it out there soon otherwise he is out of a job.

With The Filth’s injury we should win, but i know we won’t.

We are not fit enough to play Goodwin Football.

Why is this allowed to happen...

Yeh i agree. We should be looking to knock off the filth this weekend... and we won't.

I can't answer those questions as i don't know the exact reasons why we've dropped the ball (pardon the pun). But i think there are a lot of balls in thr air on this one (my personal opinion)

No doubt Goody needs to put some Ws on the board.

But like i said you don't get gifted captaincy at an afl premier. Hes got 6 months to sort it out.

Why panic, it's not like change will change our fortunes? History says we arent likey to become a successful club. Whats the worst thing that could happen by giving him a go at attempting to build something? We will still suck?

Here's a little something I'll share from a contact I have.

Recently, Goody spoke at an event to a small group, (I won't divulge) but there were no media in attendance.

The first thing I'll say is that both my source and I have been critical of Goodwin and his media performances in the past, however at this event he was very different, was honest and opened up a great deal more regarding this season.

Some talking points and discussion:

* The disruption and snowball effect the pre-season surgeries had cannot be underestimated. Didn't have nearly enough time with the players to not only get the required conditioning in, but to run and trial drills, build cohesion etc etc.. (We all know it's had an impact but he stressed the point again).

* He believed in some ways that we were lucky to make the prelim with the list we had. We were slightly ahead of where he thought we should be by the end of last year and the hype that followed us into this season was too much.

* There are some issues with staff and coaches right now and there will be big changes made end of year. (The event was held before the McCartney news broke)

* The main message was that there will be some big changes to both playing list and staff at the end of the year. He doesn't believe we have the list to take us to the promised land.

* Goody didn't say this but my source got the impression that a captaincy change up could be on the cards. (Gawn).

I'll put my hand up to say that normally I'm hyper critical of Goodwin in media interviews for the lack of insight and information he shares, but I was assured that he was a completely different character away from the camera.

Thought I'd share, looking forward to the end of this year.

When did Goodwin captain a Premiership team UH?

I assumed. Cbf looking up when he captained them.

Does it really change the point or do u think they give any goose leadership positions.

By the way maybe you can use this opportunity to advise us on your thought and experience of leadership in professional or even non professional organizations

Well he did not Captain a Premiership side-fact. Yes it changes his point significantly. Premiership Captains are highly regarded. He made the statement to make Goody seem impressive , not me.

Goody had not success as an assistant at Essendon. Fact

Five years in at MFC we are 17th. Fact

I am not your mate and will continue to post things when I think the Club I have followed for 55 years gets things wrong and in my opinion they got the process of selecting Goodwin wrong and we are paying for it now. So you stay in la la land and believe that was a press conference worthy of someone being paid something like $800.000 per year. You are on ignore.

You haven’t asked him for a coffee?! The club has got everything wrong in your mind.

Good lord. Are you really an advanced AI software program?

Maybe the Russians have infiltrated DL

I read your post first then the quoted one. It sounded much better in Russian robot voice.

I couldn't resist doing it too.

Though it ended up sounding more lime the south african bad gut (the blonde one) on die hard

I always find this stance interesting. Not having a go at you as I’m just generally interested, but what would you like him to say?

Butting in... I want him to straight bat with more confidence.

I'd like Goody to say "the game style requires all 18 on the field to function at a very high level. When it doesn't work it fails completely, but when it does work it's football that will win finals".

I agree with @Sorry kids that his media impression matters to the players, even subconciously. However, I also believe @stevethemanjordan that Goody is a world different when not on camera.

Goodwin is making a lot of mistakes, but he's learning...

And, like you have said (and many others) he's got half a seaso to turn it around

Yes, but I expected to hear a different persona as that turning cycle has begun.

Saturday will be like the rest. We will show great effort, and our scoring will dry up in the 3rd Quarter...

Thanks for the info 'steve'...

This is what I've been banging on about.

Happy to know we are not falling for the hype, that's been a real issue with other clubs in the past.

When a club overrates it's list it ends up in tears...

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
