Goodwin to Max.  Take a load of your feet champ. Get behind big Preuss, see how he goes and then tell me how you two can work together in 2020

The best thing we’ve done all year was take Max off when the game was beyond reach.

Rest him. Play Preuss for a few weeks and then play them together as a trial for 2020 ffs.

Season is gone, time to experiment a bit. Reward players like JKH, drop any senior player who is not pulling their weight.

Goodwin needs a rocket himself.

Take it to the bank, Gawn to have an artificial ankle relocation pioneering surgery, ( first of its type in the world) as used by NASA in the 6 Million dollar mans rebuild and will long outlive his body and continue to work still in the year 3099

His ankle was the size of a tennis ball last night on the news. Misso says it will be a battle this week to get the swelling down. We were told an endless amount of times last year if players felt as much as an itch it was off the track time.

The man deserves a rest.

surely we sit Max for the rest of the season.

Same with anyone else who'll need surgery or has a niggle. No point making the same mistakes again and having guys getting surgery at xmas and being behind the 8 ball again.

Couldn't care less if we played only kids to fill the team lets not risk any of our top 10 players for a nothing season.

still on crutches this morning, Unleash Preuss!

Why?

It's a spained ankle mate.. 1 to 2 weeks off and he'll be fine. Its not like hes broken a bone or done any ligament damage.

Technically a sprained ankle is ligament damage but yeah, pulling him off for the rest of the season is a bit ???

I get the feeling Gawn will be channeling big Jimmy this week. Miraculous recovery to play Sunday.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
