I truly hope this doesn’t transpire.

Me too, but we live in a world where it happens all the time.

If it does transpire, then we need to get as much out of them as possible and run.

But... I don't really think it will happen in the end.

I reckon it has also grown legs. People can say all they want about Mahoney saying there's nothing to it, but when there smoke there's fire.

Surely Langdon and their first round pick maybe?

There is always a trade than comes out of the blue, and this could be it. I woudnt want Gus to go, but if he wants to go, then we hold the aces, we get maximum for him, pick 6 & Langdon or we dont talk.

I guess if it happens, then Gus has driven it. Who knows what it is a reflection of, it’d all be conjecture.

Is it about the FD/Goodwin?

Is it about family?

Is he mates with Hogan?

We will get something quite tasty back for him if/when he leaves.

FWIW I actually love this time of year now, the capacity for many bigger names to move has never been like it in the history before - it’s quite enjoyable. And players shouldn’t and quite rightly are not beholden to ‘loyalty’ like every other industry on earth.

To be fair, there isn't a whole lot in it at this stage.  I guess if Mark does get the CEO job then, we his both his father and brother there, he might have more reason to go over there.

However, with Gus under a long term contract, you would expect the club to ask for something very significant to let him go.  We hold all the cards in this one.

Absolutely - especially as Langdon can walk to the PSD. You'd be asking for a Top 10 pick.

I'd be asking for that at a minimum.  With three years left on his deal they will need to give us some seriously good picks/players for us to let him go.

Gus doesn't strike me as a 'mummy's boy' and follow his family.  I think the Brayshaw's are made of sterner stuff.

And, his partner is Danny Frawley's daughter Danielle.  A good reason to stay in Melbourne.

I just want to see some year to year stability in the Demonland banner for once.

The media really [censored] me with their drawing conclusions from absolutely anything.

It's again a definite NO as far as I am concerned. Watched the Geelong final last night and he was outstanding - both inside and outside the contest.

Cerra and Freo's future first rounder for Gus? Too high? Unreasonable? Gus has certainly shown a lot more than Cerra.

This seems like a media beat up, but we need better ball users in our midfield mix. If we're not trading Viney, I'd look at Gus.

Seems odd for Freo to be coy to the media, and then say to Melbourne there is no interest behind closed doors.

It could be Bell playing funny buggers again, but you're probably right, implying that it's unlikely.

Maybe I am a nerd, but I see language as important.

Freo have no interest in the prising of him out, however Gus/his management may have approached them...

Football is politics these days. Especially at this time of year, but you're probably right.

If Brayshaw goes to Fremantle Peter Bell might get that feather in his cap he keeps banging on about.

Anything to help keep the little man syndrome at bay ET

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
