AFL decide that. Club has no say.

So due to the Pies wearing black shorts for a home game the jumpers now clash? Let me see that in writing. It's never been a clash when they've been in white shorts.

Is it actually really possible to kick for goal so shythouse 5 weeks in a row, then TMac misses what would have put us within 14 points. Someone make it stop, it's absolutely doing my head in.

That miss by TMac which ended up in a Collingwood goal was the moment we lost the game.

I love McDonald but he is an embarrassment to himself and a liability to our team right now.

Certainly has made some odd selection choices.

Harsh on Fritsch. Besides the 2 miss kicks he was good throughout the day

You've lost it with dropping Fritsch. One of the few in this side who can run and link up. Yeah his game has issues, disposal goes hot and cold and his defensive positioning isn't ideal , hardly a surprise for a skinny kid with very little backline experience but he's exactly the player we need more of not less. Almost any team in the comp would love to have someone like Fritsch developing in their side.

Turn over merchant

Play him on the wing...he's a nervous nelly with the hordes coming at him

See point 5.

You had T Mc but you didn't have Melksham nor the realities that beating up on bad sides has no relevance to how you perform against the good teams. We couldn't score against a top 8 side last year under round 22 against the Eagles. Took 22 weeks to get it together.

We are the worst 'professional' sporting club in Australia,  if not the world.

An embarrassment to the city, and to the game.

Couldn’t agree more.  I would argue the worst professional sporting club over the last 50 years globally.  Doesn’t deserve the name Melbourne

1. They're Collingwood and we're not

2. the AFL has lost control of all aspects of the game (except ejecting supporters for doing what they've done for 100+ years).

I though the same when mine was similar age.. he’s almost 4 now, the other one is almost 1.... I don’t feel good for them for what I have done. My wife “was” a bombers fan but know tells people we’re a Melb family.

What have I done to them.

Put a Dees' scarf on my little one when he was born....he's now 26 and glares at me....

Agreed.

He won’t get sacked nor should he at the moment, but if we don’t overhaul the rest of the coaching team come year end, I would be very disappointed.

Pert needs to flex some muscle and go hunt top assistant coaches from other clubs. Throw that extra cash we made from all those idiots who signed up as members this year!

I take it that many big wins were against lower teams but those bad sides are beating up on us now.

I forgot about Milkshake.

I'm sure they would if they could - and if he had the tank to do it regularly. He started todays game with the forwards. Moved back when Frost went down.

He barely missed a target last week. 4 clangers from 26 disposals this week. Has to improve that aspect of his game but any of a) a bit of run, spready and carry around him, b) a good CHF forward or c) a safer/slower game plan with more switching would help as well.

Hahahaha....... so sad. I used to see it as a badge of honour, only the weak can’t handle sticking fat, now I question why I signed them up.

Wheres the [censored] that insisted tmac was a better forward than hogan when we traded him? Wouldnt shut up at the time. Tmac is a huge spud.

I know we now have a bye and will struggle to lose that, but for the rest of the season

Ins : J Walker, J Beam, J Daniels,  G Fiddich - at least their performance is reliable and they hit the spot. ( And Brad Greens boys who showed real promise today)

Out: That guy that runs around in the Red and blue jumper that drops chest marks, handballs 30cm to opponents in a worse position, can't kick straight for goal from 30 m out and who has a good old laugh and smile with the opposition after an embarrassing loss - can't think of his name....

I assume he was the clown behind us wearing a clash jumper against the Pies. Weak rubbish like that won't help us.

If you think the colour of our jumper is relevant to our form in any way, you’ve got absolutely NFI.

For the record, Collingwood wore their clash jumper on Queen’s Birthday last year. First time I can recall either side in a Melb-Coll game wearing a clash jumper.

Currently on the way home on the Hurstbridge line and thank Christ I’m off the Mernda line given the amount of NQR Collingwood supporters.

Can I for once go to a game of [censored] football and enjoy myself. I envy Collingwood, Geelong, Richmond and Hawthorn supporters of the past!

Our backline did their best today, lever and May played their part, none of this is their fault.

The onballers won the clearances, but got ripped apart on the outside...but what’s new.

The problem is the god damn forward [censored] line!! We had enough forward entries, shots on goal etc etc!!

No one can give a decent lead. No one can take a contested mark. No one can apply forward pressure. No one can crumb. No one can kick a set shot. No one can snap a goal. Where the [censored] do I stop??

Garlett needs to be dropped and delisted ASAP. Spargo tried hard but isn’t up to it, bring Lockhart in ASAP. Tom McDonald is embarrassing to watch, drop to casey with his brother.

I hope to hell the club starts looking at forwards at the end of this year. We need an abundance of mid/small size forwards that work their guts out and actually impact the scoreboard.

[censored] me. My Dad can suck on a microwaved can of [censored] for making me follow this mob!

Fritsch was easily among our best players today.

Saw at least 6 doing that..........almost looked happy with themselves.

I guess they are more happy than most of cos at least they got paid.

I am utterly staggered that we're half way through the season and we're still seeing the 'play on at all costs and handball to a teammate under the pump' scenario every time we touch the ball. It simply has to be the coaching, and I'm absolutely sick of it.

It is coaching - if it is not coaching - why is it played each week against all opposition and on weekly reflection does nothing to assist the Team of players to be positive in the transmission of the ball and the scoreboard - let alone be dealt with and eliminated by Coaching direction? Is it because the Coach says it must stay?

Pruess must get a game next week, [censored] to death of Wagner, Spargo getting games before him, Goodwin must stop playing favourites, and play deserving players

So you want Preuss to play the role that Spargo or Wagner plays? Just checking...

I would think that Preuss should replace Tmac.

If you don't want Spargo or Wagner to play (btw i agree and I'd add Jeffy to that list), who at Casey can we pick to do their rolls?

Well lets all be honest with ourselves.

This is the real Melbourne weve come to know and loathe. Not without reason.

GCS will win a flag b4 us.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
