It’s true, but Petracca and Garlett kicking easy goals would have helped too.

We could have had the game sewn up by the final break.

Garlett's miss, when he had entire 50 in front of him but lazily kicked it from 40 instead of running in, was the worst one.

Honestly need clarity.... The WCE player who got knocked out play stopped immediately , I thought this could only happen once the stretcher is called?

When Salem got tunneled in the 4th (another missed free) and hit his head and was on the ground the umps let the play continue... When are they meant to stop the play?

Boys gave it all I am just over watching Eagles get critical goals from free kicks. You just know where going to get pineapple. I don’t know about other posters but Eagles are the most arrogant pile of manure and have been since early 90s. That pay out on Gawn show up their mentality. I just live for the day we whip there [censored].

In reply to BrisbaneDemon From gameday thread RE: Fritsch.

"I watched him against the hawks and GC live mate, tonight has been the same, if we didn’t have so many injuries he’d be playing are casey we’re he belongs this year"

I honestly don't know how you can call Fristch a turnover merchant based on watching 2 games live. The guy has 80% disposal efficiency for the year. If you can find a better user of the ball coming out of our backline other than Salem be my guest.

Im ropable. The double standard  of umpiring tonight  was vomit inducing. Simon Goodwin  needs to step up and ask some hard questions  at afl hq.   That balding a$$ wipe made so many awful decisions.  Gambling is now rooted in this game and opens it up to  corruption.

I am shattered who wouldn't be however a step in the right direction. 8 frees to 1 in the last to the Weasles. No back line but rapt in Petty and the ever reliable Marty Hore. Upseting that we did genuinely have our chance but l am proud of the boys.

Give me something to hang onto. If only we converted the early misses. Yes if only.  We keep the faith.

Our  most encouraging performance thus far. Looked really dangerous and by far the better team for most of the night. Lack of polish, especially in front of goals, meant we didn’t put them away when we should have.

Once Baker adjusts to the speed of the game he’s going to be a very good player.

His first two touches were brilliant.

I’d not seen much of him at Casey but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was the kind of player better suited to the open style of AFL over VFL.

Im most Peed off that Tim Smith was given Holding the ball, Every other instance of players stopping has been a ball up. 12 point tunaround and a concussion. Game over.

I see Fritsch's problem as being fumbles. He seems to make a number of errors when going for the ball or handpassing. He nailed some kicks today though.

Some sh*t calls that quarter. But that's not what cost us. Our kicking skills are well off.

With that said Hunt and Frost (exc that fumble) were our best on grounds tonight.

Hunt was awesome, playing a role that really suits him. Frost really horrible, his 1 or 2 good things doesn't take away from all the goals he cost us.

My thoughts as well after I saw his first couple of touches. Got caught a few times but that’s going to happen in your first game. A couple were from dodgy hand passes anyway.

Let's be fair though, most people on here had written us off before the game, so the fact we led for 80%+ or something like that and should have won should be a positive to the same people who thought we were in for a 10-goal loss or a repeat of the prelim.

Massively disappointing to be the better side for most of the night & let a 19 point lead slip but you can not question the endeavour & effort by the side tonight. Grossly undermanned & backs against the wall, no ones mentioned the 6 day break & double travel which is a joke, I don't think any side would have 2 trips back to back let alone on a 6 day break... Proud of the effort just disappointed we didn't get reward

Opposition backlines must rub their hands when they know they are playing us - we feed them like a Nonna at a family dinner.

Our forwards don’t move enough and we simply don’t win the ball once it inevitably hits the ground.

I’d love to know the stats but at a guess I would say we only regain position no more than 20% of the time the ball hits the ground in our forward line.

We let this one get away, but some positives:

- We're still hungry.

- We'll get better as some of our starters return.

- Great to see Hunt in such fine form again.

- We can't ask much more from Maxy.

- Once Baker gets into the swing of things, he's going to be a great player.

- Hore gets better every game.

- TMac looks like he's finally finding his feet. He could, and should, have kicked a few goals.

Gutted, angry, infuriated. It was our game to lose and we lost it.

Our kicking into and inside the forward line has been disgusting all year. It almost cost us last week and it cost us this week.

Such a shame that our best footy has not been rewarded.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
