BB had been warned multiple times not to bypass the profanity filter. Perhaps that rule will sink in over his holiday.

The filter is there for a reason yet BB continually felt the need to show everyone the exact curse word he wanted to use.

That is your right as owners/ controllers of Demonland.

I know you are very controversial at times OD but I never took you as being so provocative it would result in BB getting banned!!

Not sure what to make of that RN.

2019 is a strange throw back year.

The MFC seems to have regressed back to the bad old days both on and off the field.

Oh well it is not as though it is a new experience.

There is always next year.

You can tell a thread is dead when all thats left is posters getting stuck into each other.... ?

an advocate for getting rid of Hogan.

We did do the correct thing in this.

Unfortunately Hogan was not the answer,  for Us.   We will come out of all this,  a stronger team and club.

Anyone can see now,  that even with Hogan playing with us as he did last season,  we would be nowhere near the top eight,  with so many players down and injured,  or NQR in fitness.

All of our players including Gawn have been off in form early this season.

We need this Gap season to refresh our list...  and add to it.

I think a topic is dead when Nazis, Hitler or Eddie McGuire is mentioned. EG, Some posters are like Hitler and they think Eddie is a Nazi.

That should do it!

If that where the criteria Mr. Shadow most threads would be closed after two pages.

I’ve said in other posts I have a cousin who played at GC in same era and he was told he knew what he was doing and given no training program.

Hey Wrecker - I'm struggling to comprehend this post. Can you rephrase and switch out some of the pronouns? Or just like if my assumption is correct: I’ve said in other posts I have a cousin who played at GC in same era and May was told by the MFC that May knew what May was doing as a professional footballer and given no training program by Melbourne?

His Cousin played for GC and was told (I’m guessing during the off-season) that he knew what he was doing and he didn’t need a training program given to/created for him (whilst it was off-season). This is how I read it.

Thanks for highlighting my deficiencies in English. My spoken language.

My cousin played for GC with May. I see my cousin a few times a year and every Christmas Day. A couple of years ago when he moved from another club to GC, he told me on Christmas day, (over a few beers! that he had been told by GC to just continue what he was doing. The GC had no program for him. My cousin was professional the Gold Coast weren’t.

That this is a ‘breaking story’ is the stuff of Working Dog’s Frontline television series. It seems pretty clear it was not actually ‘a big drinking session’ as claimed by Tom Morris on OTC.

I reckon Steven May will turn out to be a bloody good player for us. And this is not a big deal, albeit it is an issue that the club seems not to have not handled particularly well.

It all points to a quiet news day in Melbourne on Monday.

I loved Frontline. There should be another series done now. There would be an overflow of good material to choose from. The culture of media is getting out of hand. Some people with a phone in their hand think they have a right to spy and report on anyone who is in the public eye, no matter how far down the "celebrity" chain they are.

A few losses and Mr president of the mfcss old dee says we are doing bad of field. How are we worse off field then last year?

Sorry to be the odd one out MR but I actually like Eddie, pity we did not have someone similar for the last decade.

I agree, when you’re hated by the opposition ( including myself) it means you’re doing something right

Yes look at the hate for Hawthorn, I would love to be hated that much with all those flags over the last 50 years. Remind me how many have we won in that period?

Ditto.  Eddie occasionally blubbers on a little and puts the odd foot in it but mostly rolls ok and has good intentions IMO.  Some just talk the talk (yes Eddie does that with aplomb) but Eddie walks the walk.

Speaking of drinking sessions, thought this might lighten the mood a little...

Brilliant. Deep, concerned, focussed conversations. Absolute mutual respect maintained. Good to see blokes having an exchange at this level of thoughtful communication. Thanks, Beetle.

When even the 'Nosy Vicar' of the AFL, Damien Barrett, says an behaviour incident is being blown out of proportion, you know there's not much to see.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
