What if May had of come to pre season fit?

What if J Smith had 've been taken off the ground rather than aggravate his groin?

What if McDonald & Weed were in form?

What if Lewis wasn't so slow?

What if Jones passed the ball off instead of breaking tackles?

What if Clarry kicked the ball more?

What if Lever hadn't of gotten injured?

What if Goodwin tried a different plan?

What if he played Fritter as a forward?

What if he played Frost & Hunt on the wings?

What if the ladder was upside down? What if this season is just a nightmare & we all wake up 2moro morning?

What if.........?

I look forward to seeing 'when' rather than 'what if'!

He WAS taken off the ground.

Did a fitness test on the boundary line, looked in agony, so obviously we sent him back onto the ground in a meaningless game.

What if we held firm and demanded pick 5 off of Freo, and drafted Rozzee.

What if we didn't sell the farm for Lever.

What if Oliver didn't sh*t himself everytime he had the ball in close and dished it off like a hot spud.

What if Petracca wasn't scared to take the game on.

What if Brayshaw didn't turn the ball over so much and had penetration in his kick.

What if we had two Christian Salem's.

What if we didn't overrate Tom McDonald as a forward. He isn't a forward's a-hole.

What if Gawn was an effective tap ruckman.

What if Goodwin could coach.

What if we dropped Lewis back to the VFL - where he belongs.

What if Hibberd went with him.

What if we had of kept Bernie Vince.

What if.

Agree with Rozee call, though we would have taken Bailey Smith

We win 14 of the next 17 games and scrap into the 8......and then who knows what might happen?

in the next few weeks we get back-May, Lever, Vanders, Jetta, Hannam, Viney, Preuse, OMac and ANB

‘confession time- my wife is always telling me I’m a “glass half full optimist”

stranger things have happened

What if we all just accept this year is a write off as disappointing as it is.

What if we all stop blaming our coaches & players.

There will be some serious egg on face in 12 months.

We'd still be slow?

The sad fact is that some of those were preventable (recruiting Lewis, who Cornes reckons would not have been offered a likeable deal by any other club) long ago.  Lewis didn't suddenly slow down over the pre-season.  He was slow when he walked in the door.

The other sliding doors moment happened during the finals in 2018, where Scott and Geelong totally revamped their stocks (youth, talent), where we were comfortable beating slow teams on the G.  In contrast, we traded our way out of the super-draft, and paid big money for icing rather than cake.

When this club has review at the end of 2019, all it had to do was read the preview here in the past few years.  That is the sad reality.

Clint Bizkit: "Hi."

TGR: "Jordan Lewis is slow, we never should have recruited him and we paid too much for Lever."

Clint Bizkit: " We fumble too much and don't know what to do when we take a mark."

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
