Pick 2 for Brad Hill?

Judd also said he thinks Melbourne will make a play for Brad Hill.

No GCS will ask for Pick 2 and retention allowance from the AFL this week. If that happens we need to [censored] pick 3 for two 1st rounders and go aggressive in trade period.

Gold coast getting pick 2 would be an absolute joke. i would give them picks 11 and end of first round in addition to pick 1 which they have, access to state league players and a mini draft selection from the talent pool of 2020 that they can trade this year. that should give them a haul capable of improving even that joke of a list without compromising another draft in the name of a club that has since day 1 been a horrible idea

If the AFL happen to give gold coast both 1&2 they might as well give them every b*##! pick in the draft?

I always wonder if both gold coast and the gws were not part of the AFL , the players we could have had on our list?

For &#*@ sake we have been waiting for a flag since 1964, and are still waiting.

Would Angus Brayshaw be up for trade if the right offer came along lets say he netted us Brad Hill & Langdon somehow?

Part of deal definitely.

the general football public is being set up with the expectation that gc17 will get a pointy end priority pick; i'm firmly of the belief that it'll happen

would be interesting to see how anyone values jog brayshaw - speaking to various supporters of oppo teams at work and none of them want him as they see how lazy he is between the contests and how atrocious his ball use is - as at the moment i'd have him rated at a second round pick, at best

we might've got a first rounder for him last year if we were brave and traded him while his value was at it's highest point

coniglio is a free agent and, if he's going anywhere, it's likely to be to the hawks so he can play with his best mate jaeger o'meara

i'm convinced brad hill is geelong bound as part of the tim kelly deal, with the latter more than happy to go to either wa side this year, whereas last year he ONLY wanted to go to meth coke

I would think Brayshaw for Langdon would be a fairer trade to an objective observer. Both about high 2nd rounder in value at the moment

I didn't Think we could trade this year's first round draft pick??

Ps @Patches O’houlihan go to bed mate! ?

Hahah sorry Dazzle, worked very late last night haha. we can only trade it if we get a different one to use, though i think we can apply to the AFL for clearance to trade it.

Anderson will add to our forward mix next year

Outside mids and forwards have to be a priority. I like Langdon. If we could secure him and Hill, along with 1 or 2 small forwards like Butler, Elliott, McDonald-Tippingwuti or Papley, that'd be ideal

What about:

OUT: MFC 2019 R1 and R2 picks (3+23, assuming GCS get 1+2PP)

IN: B Hill + Langdon+ Freo 2019 R1 (about 9)

No doubt Freo would think that unders and try and work Gus into the equation

I think everyone’s too quick to start discarding Gus as part of trades. Has had a bad year no doubt, but been played out of position all year long and in a system that just doesnt work.

That's the deal I'd go for.  Hopefully a couple more losses for Freo make that deal better for us. Unless Gus tells us he wants to leave then he is off limits.

Should we be looking at someone like Jeremy Finnlayson from GWS? Would provide decent support for Tmac and has proved an accurate kick for goal. Was nearly traded last year and am sure the Giants would want to keep him after this year’s form, but surely we’re in a position to offer more than they can afford?

Think this is about right, especially if they give GC a top end priority. I'd say we might even try and turn that second round pick into our 2020 2nd pick instead. I think that Hill could end up at Geelong as part of the Kelly trade though.

No they wouldn't, Gus finished 3rd in the Brownlow last year and has proven class, just because he's had a down year doesn't mean he's value has dropped that much. He'd still warrant a first rounder on it's own, pick 10-15 or so. Hypothetically if he did want to go west with his brothers then I'd be asking for Cerra and Langdon with no picks exchanged, unless we were going for Hill as well.

To me it honestly looks like Gus is a player who has lots on his mind, almost like a player who knows there might be some chance he is not at the club next year. There seems to be very little care or responsibility in his game, constant kicking without looking, lack luster tackle pressure, poor decision making, sluggish, handballs over his head.

I think he is a player who would have huge currency, and even through all that im not sure i would want him not playing for us.

everything you said in the opening para has been true of him his entire career

he started off his 2018 year in the magoos as a result of his lax two-way running

he might end off 2019 back there

Fair comments, and yep, it might be the full stop too 2 very different seasons! Has been really disappointing though, and i acknowledge he has been played out of position but still a shame after a such breakout season in 2018.

i actually think this is a misnomer

he's not being played out of position; it's been discovered that he can ONLY one ONE position - inside mid

it limits him enormously compared to say, the likes of jones or harmes who can play effective roles outside the centre square set-up but are - arguably - better inside mids than brayshaw as their workrate and disposal is superior

Which probably indicates he is being played out of position yeah? he is a specialist inside mid, yet has played outside on wing and HB for a lot of the year.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
