If you think Kent and Howe (at MFC) are "nailed", you need to look again

Would have Kent and Howe in our best 22 right now ahead of Weiderman, Sparrow, OMac, Jordan or anyone else Taylor has picked up late

Mate, you genuinely think that all the Casey players we drafted were dead set best available when we picked them? Surely your taking the [censored]. Surely

It's the the suggestion that Taylor can't be bothered scouting anywhere else.  That is the absolute [censored] you're talking, and you know it.

At the ground so missed any commentary, but was TMac injured during the game or did he go in bad?

Every time I paid any attention to what he was doing he was walking/running with a limp.

If you want to spew up , watch Goodwins presser. He is positive and thinks we are moving in the right direction

The guy is sickening in pressers. Just compare him to Buckley or Scott and he comes across as a the dumb kid in class.

Not fooling me it's clear he has zero idea how to fix the sinking ship.

He always runs like that cos he is fat and slow and soft. Another Taylor gem.

We never had the chance to step up in 2019. You just can not have massive slabs of your list unavailable for full training till mid-January and expect the team - or what's left of it - to be ready by Round 1. You then spend the rest of the season playing catch-up, while being booted from pillar to post.

If it were just fitness, our game wouldnt be so easy to play against all game, our defensive set up was better for 3 qtrs. We have individuals that can do elite things. Our gameplan and different coaches have based our setups on these individuals doing elite things. Watch a stoppage set up at either end of the ground, we set up for each player to do something elite to win the clearance. And often steal the ball off ourselves doing the elite thing. Creating congestion and pressure on ourselves. We dont even set up a release player, so when elite act is done, no ones set up to move firward. And we turn over and our players just jog back watching the ball fly down again. As the other team floods forward and setup a press. While our forwards jog down, not in a space where they could lead and mess up the zone, create options, create space for other forwards  just jog down and pick a spot to stand, flat footed letting them setul just like training. Is it 22 players refuse to to listen to setups or are 22 players doing what theyve been told. Tweak it and setup as a team and fitness will be less of an issue. Its easier to run when its not chasing when systems fail.

A bit of seriousness form myself.

We've gone with 2 game styles now

1. We can't defend but we can score but lose

2. We can defend but can't score and lose

Goody needs to pick a style and stick to it. Drop players who don't preform or can't and rebuild form there

He was referring to our contested effort. that we were in the game for 75% of the time contesting but had lapses.  Even tho we are badly out of form.  and cannot kick a goal to save ourselves.

This is all midfield issues. selfish play...  playyers playing for self...

Oli is terrible.

Tracca is a pedestrian, plods about the field.

TMc tried but is so out of form worst I've,  seen him.

Gawn is not linking up.

Jones looking aged.

Viney just a player, out of form.

We are a walking rehab zone.

The way we play 10m of our man when they have the ball does my head in. Petracca the worst offender by far. Watched him all night. He rates himself as a super fast closer but his man waltzed away with the ball tima and time again.

We are the dumbest footballers in the competition. Cant breal a tackle, cant hold a tackle, handball to a stationary player facing backwards, handball at a players feet, can't take a mark to save ourselves, don't run and spread, hold the ball until every option has been covered off and then bomb it, the number oftimes the ball spilled to the back of a contest and boom 3 richmond players simply ran away with it.

I'm done. I'm out of here. What a [censored] side and a [censored] club.

You're clueless mate. These picks were the highest we've had. A recruiter should nail these picks... A pick in the second round should not be an stab in the dark. Picking weideman when he had question marks all over his endurance was a blunder. Name one player we have drafted recently bar Oliver that would get a game in a top 4 side??

They all would.

They would then play really good football.

Do yourself a favor and don’t look up Jason Taylor’s record.

Anyone remember Hulett? Viv Michie? Max King? Filipovic? Dion Johnson? I can keep on going.

Oh, it's noted. He also didn't show up until late in the game tonight.

I don't actually think he is a Melbourne supporter. Just probably hops across different forums to do the same thing.

Didn't think I would come up after Saints game but the Anzac game is bigger than football. Saw a lot to like in first quarter but then the anxiety kicked in and we stopped taking the game on. The amount of skill errors was dumbfounding. We remained rugged in the clinches and kept within striking distance until the final quarter. The thing that stood out was our lack of synergy... players are playing for themselves... no consistent link ups between mates... no chain of events. We get in each others way more than assist each other to gain a clear passage.

I thought Max was excellent. Hibberd did a good job on Dusty. Melksham played out the four quarters. Salem maintained good form. Hore continues to be a good contributor down back. Smith was the only forward to stick a few good grabs... he chased hard as well.

Weiderman needs a break at Casey. Hunt was all at sea. Jeff didn't give us much. I've never seen Fritsch mess up with his ball handling to that extent before today.

2 tackles inside our forward 50 speaks for itself.

Turnovers speak for themselves.

Sh-t disposal again by hand and foot, against the slickest side in the comp, will get you a loss every day of the week.

Brayshaw and Oliver, our 2 key mids, got plenty of the ball and simply butchered it. Goody can't do much about that.

We need to go back to the drawing board and identify our weaknesses and then develop a plan to remedy them. That includes bringing in pacy, skilful players and making changes to our assistant coaching panel, who clearly are struggling with devising a simple game plan that we can play to.

Yes injuries and surgeries have hurt us, but so has our list and gameplan.

2 goals in 3 quarters is reminiscent of the Prelim last year. It is just unacceptable.

BTW, I thought Hunt and Petracca were pathetic tonight.

For those who keep knocking Frost, I suggest you watch another sport. He has tried his guts out this year.

Questions need to answered on our player culture & leadrship in just 6 months they have unraveled why??? Would love to see what their running times & skin folds were???  Trying to play fancy footy & doing silly low % handballs , handing the ball back to Richmond. Just another disaster in the history of the MFC..

Only a matter of time now before another club comes knocking on Big Maxs door.

Sadly I think the big man has gone out of the game a little.

Apart from Grundy who is good around the ground and maybe Witts??? Is there any other ruckman playing consistently well at the moment?

Thanks again AFL.... Gil and Buddah u f wits

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
