Umpires were actually deplorable at so many key moments tonight. Not withstanding we butchered it time and time again, but seriously ... mind boggling decisions at crucial times

Least of our issues. Umpires arent causing the continual brain farts, fumbles, lack of leadership, continued repeated mistakes etc.

wow these umps..

Totally agree, but the 4 goals as a direct result of bull shot frees certainly doesn’t help

Am I alone in thinking hunt has been good tonight ?

not good enough, tackles to the softer side of the tackleee...  missing out on  upsetting the disposal.

Hhunt does not have what we need.

I'm disappointed in what I've seen of him so far this season.

It’s very hard to win when we are playing two short each week. That number 5 and 7 aren’t playing for us anymore.

I mean yeah 0-3 but least our kids aren’t starving in syria

there is that

Our percentage also went up. Silver linings people!

Its more our structure, that isn't working any longer...  666 has unpicked the zone.

And our Mids setup has been worked out, and worked over.   We no longer control the centre bounces.

I disagree with the middle.  We no longer control it when either of Viney or Jones go through there.  They are turtle paced and just end up giving a handball to a player under even more pressure as a result.

The minute neither of them play through there we start looking more mobile.

Clarry's also had a very ordinary night by his standards.

Anyone blaming the umpires is kidding themselves. Spine Wied, TMac, OMac, Frost = years of heartbreak. This team is absolute crap.

Image result for why can't we have both

Just cant believe this....

What a disaster

Waiting for Goodwin presser ..... better effort, 100 points plus for the first time, no mention of being toweled up by a cellar dweller, with limited rotation for much of the game.

All too familiar.

Definitely need on field leaders, of whom we have NONE.

Umpires have officially lost the plot!

[censored] off. They have made disgraceful decisions all night in scoring position.

This

Occam’s razor

poxy footy

Frost is a [censored] dear in the headlights. Thanks everyone but I’m outta here for a while. Over 30 years of supporting this club and this really hurts. Imagine how good it would have been if I had waited a bit and picked west coast...I’m from Perth and just went too early

I would have thought I was pretty clear in saying notwithstanding us butchering the ball. I assume you had a brain fart yourself and completely missed that part of my comment.

Now before you start kicking the guts out of our team... analyse the influence the umpires have had on the result

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
