Non MFC games Round 2

Swans v Adelaide

give me a reason please to support either team.

Is this the first time an all interstate game has been scheduled for a Friday night.

I appreciate that there was a big game in Melbourne last night but it doesn't strike me as a TV ratings bonanza into Melbourne.

How is the double standards from the media today on the cox suspension, Gerard whateley saying it’s not a reportable offence, yet said May deserved a week, I don’t see much difference between the 2 and at least the mro are being consistent even though both decisions are laughable, only difference is Cox will appeal and get off, the media will see to that

Petracca is looming as the biggest disappointment at the Club over recent years.

Like many, when I first saw him in a Melbourne jumper, I was excited and wrapped that we snatched him away from the Saints.

For a kid that promised so much, apart from a few cameo moments, his inability to develop into the player he could be is a huge disappointment. Lets face it, at many other clubs he would be strolling around a local ground smelling the grass.

Many of us have been hoping each week to see a change, to see a break-out game. However this season he turns up overweight, unfit with little sparkle. I am sure he will pop up for a brief highlight or two, but his lack of development as a top line player now has a permanent look about it.  He has the potential to be a match winner but it just has not materialised or even got close.

Perhaps his off-season surgery can explain his condition and poor form in the opening match, but unless his form tuns around quickly, Casey beckons.

Rather than an excitement machine, he has become a disappointment machine.  Once there may have been a favourable comparison with De Goey but not now.

It's actually ridiculous how he refuses to run in a straight line and kick the football. He will always turn and let the traffic catch up and look for a dish off, he will continue to drive me nuts until he stops this. Its almost unbelievable with the amount of coaches we have that he is still doing this.

I used to hold the view that he would eventually become one of the dominant players in the competition but the more I see of him, the more I think I got this one wrong. His inability to actually kick goals when playing as a forward is another major concern. Cam Rayner already looks like Petracca 2.0

IMO people are going the early crow on Petracca. Let's reassess at the end of this year.

Statistically, he's very similar to De Goey, but the Magpie is clearly ahead for goals.

I'd keep him out of the midfield rotation for a few weeks and get him to play as a permanent forward. Keep it simple, because he actually makes the easy look difficult and the hard look easy at times.

I reckon he'll be okay and I think given how close they are statistically, it shows you what Petracca's ceiling is if he can get it together, because De Goey is considered a 'star' and he is due to scoreboard impact.

What are the commentators worried about? Swans have played finals every time they've started 0-2 in the last 20 years!

But... but... aren't teams supposed to miss the finals when they go 0-2??  I'm so confused!

I noticed 2 frees paid in tonight’s game for holding the ball where a smaller player has not taken possession just bunted the ball forward with their open hand, then got grabbed and slung to the ground and been pinged for incorrect disposal. Gee wasn’t that always the smaller, mobile man’s advantage to just keep the ball in their control but never actually take possession? Seems that has disappeared at least tonight.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
