Hmmm...

With all this talk of players and illegal substances, you may want to consider your wording in future postings. ??

Can't wait to him to get back out on the park.

Do you think we'll see him before the bye?

They say it’s a 12 month recovery period from ACL surgery. Collingwood’s Tyson Goldsack came back in half that time and played in last year’s finals in what was close to a “now or never” scenario for him in light of the stage of his career.

Even playing it conservatively, I’m hoping to see Lever back playing at VFL level a few weeks before the break.

It was a play on words with the Disney 80s fad of doing things "On Ice". I've slightly changed the thread title. ?

They said the other day that Lever is back in main training in about a month which is when the season starts, so don't be surprised if we end up seeing Lever in round 5-6 instead of rounds 8-10

Thanks. Makes sense.

Like to understand the logic of how running through snow helps with an ACL recovery. Some fitness genius probably getting paid big bucks for this training ‘innovation’. No concern with any risk from slipping over from a knee under recovery?

Yeah the guys is getting paid big bucks because he has a reputation and I assume a track record of getting results and obviously there is a concern with things like slipping over but that's probably the whole point. It's a controlled exercises it's not just go out there and have a run.

Ankle deep snow is probably still a safer surface than the Etihad turf where Lever did his knee.

I believe he is under the same program of recovery as Trac, so ...whatever it takes

Seems strange to me Dee. If you have ever run through snow its a difficult exercise because of uneven ground and uncertainty about footfall. Does not seem like a controlled exercise at all. I would prefer him at home under the supervision of local medicos/rehab people. Being o/s and earning big bucks does not mean anything.

I think you'll find that's the point if you go back and have a look at Trac's diary and videos from when he was there. Build the psychological confidence and also fast twitch muscle reactions. Have a look at the videos of what he had Trac doing. I wouldn't do that on 2 good knees little own a reconstructed one. But that's the idea apparently.

Nah, not me, I just thought if Lever wanted a run outside in Philly in February, early March, then snow it is, about as slippy as the grass at Goschs a couple of eeeks ago when it hailed, Lever was pounding around the boundary then

Jakey will be the best thing to dash through the snow if he makes a successful comeback and we go on to great deeds!

Bwtter than Father Chris!

Huge kudos to the Club who again and again are leaving no stone unturned in trying to improve our players and provide a base for success.

Just a thought how would Rance and Astbury  react if Pruess (or Gawn) were added to the forward marking group after seeing our efforts (Tommy not at  best) on   Sunday.

Reckon that might alter the weight and height scale.

JLT matches are like horse trials don't trust them generally as each Club has there own agenda!

Lets see how that pans out on the early rounds as fitness and firm kick in.

Not sure I am comfortable with him running in snow. If ever there was an opportunity for your feet to slip and jar/damage your knee that would be it...

Hi It's Time... Is "little own" similar to "let alone"

Good question. If I knew the answer I'd probably have been saying let alone for the past five decades. Never too old. But as you've only posed a question not provided the answer,  I'll now have to use both.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
