If we were playing finals it may be different but more than happy with cautious approach.

I did mine last year. 6 weeks on crutches with a cyborg style brace (7-8 weeks). It depends on the type of tear.

 he’s been carrying a foot injury too... so time off legs could b helpful for a number of reasons. Hoping we’ve focused all our bad luck and bad kicking fr goal into one year ! So the footy curse can move on to another team in 2020 and leave us free fr one big crack it’ll at it.

already looking forward  to having him back ready  fr a big pre season alongside lever, melksham, May, Joel Smith, VDB ( if he plays again) Hannon and Jetta..

As I have no cartilage in either knee after 5 menisectomies I can understand the cautious approach. Minor tears can heal but take 6 weeks and more major tears can be stitched and take longer to heal. Not sure about current orthopaedic practices but surgeons appear to be very conservative about snipping out cartilage. cartilage doesn’t grow back and arthritis is more likely to develop in the knee later in life.

Correct. And it depends on the approach the surgeon or physio take to recovery/rehab.

VDB, the two Smiths, KK... all injury prone players.

Taking each player alone the list can carry them but can you support  a list where almost 10% of your players begin well behind par from a fitness viewpoint.

KK... one more year.... he's still young and I think there's something there but be ready to delist/medically retire mid way through next season.

All are very tough decisions but they need to be made.

Joel Smith has pace and kicked 6 on one leg (or groin) during the JLT. He can ply both ends. I dunno why would say bye to him

I hope so when he is playing, we seem to go up another level.

He also lost his Dad, i think last year, so he may be given some time from the club to get his mind and body right for next season? 

I can see us finishing second last this year; with the rate of injury that we’re having at the moment, we’ll be lucky to have 22 players by round 23!

Carltank should be able to beat GC17 in coming weeks, and then they’ll be one fluke win behind us, which would put us equal on points but (probably) behind them on percentage

If we had no other players predisposed to injury then ... yes.... but we have four.. is he the best of the four?

Ah no it wouldn"t and you don't just "Remove" the Meniscus you actually repair it generally putting in some stitches , which take time to fuse the fibres together. You would not have seen him before next season, even if a Grand Final was at stake!!
