No. All of those players were flawed and our list was in a very different position. We are a destination club now and decent players see what we're cooking and want in.

kade is clearly flawed if he can't get a game at gc and they want to move him on

A lot of those were cheap pick ups and more for depth purposes.

agree but 1 or 2 should have showed something if we were getting it right. we aren't and in the circumstance we should just go to the draft going forward

Let the resident dopes on here think Kolodjashnij is just another average prospect.

The bloke will be one of the most talented on our list and if he's over his concussions will be a revelation.  .

He can play but he has been concussed a lot. He is probably a knock or two from giving it up. We aren't talking about a kid with the mindset of Angus Brayshaw, who wouldn't give it up even if he copped more knocks. Brayshaw is stubborn. Kolodjashnij is cut from a different cloth altogether. He is hesitant. I watch him. I watched him as a junior. He has great skills and elite movement, he is a very graceful mover. But, he is just a knock away from giving it up IMO. I'd be prepared to give up a 3rd round pick but nothing more.

He's worth 34, not including double/triple letter values, and the bonus for all the tiles. I really think anyone we recruit I can trust the FD to make sure the 'not soft' function is installed. Certainly of the Suns that have left they all seem to go ok. K.hunt, what a bone-headed move that was, 3 million for a party drug culture. Funnily enough I'm more worried about May working out than KK if we got both.

Who are the resident dopes?

Worry about he concussions but the upside is huge. Would be happy to part with a 3rd rounder.

This kid is a potential A grader. I think a lot of posters are going to be eating humble pie when they realise just how good this kid is. He has as much talent as any of our young mids.

So, another Clarry or Angus to add to our list! Wow, bring it on!

Get the saints to talk with the suns to make sure they are happy with the saints pick for Kent because thats what they should be getting for KK .

Otherwise no deal saints

Kade is a beauty. The concussion issues were neck related and have been resolved. Not sure what Dew etc have against him.

Probably too skinny for Dews liking!

KK is definitely an elite talent, I'm unsure why the Suns would give him up for nothing when they are clearly a basketcase. With Lewis near done, this guy will slot in nicely.

I think there are 3 kinds of trades for players:

  1. Blockbusters with early picks and big salary involved: e.g. Lever, May
  2. Role players for known quantities: e.g. Vince, Lewis, Hibberd, Melksham, Garlett, Tyson, Bugg, Preuss
  3. Speculation for players that have unrealised potential: Frost, Balic, McKenna, Kennedy, KK

In some ways #3 are most interesting

it's the nature of the beast. I should add Ben Kennedy and Pat McKenna in there too

I put KK in same category as Ports acquisition of Mr Watts last year... a bet against exposed form based on pedigree (draft pick, “talent”, etc)... and Jack was getting games in a middle of the road team, whereas Kk struggling in a cellar dweller...

If he can bring us the lucky 13th flag; i'm all for him putting the great red and blue jumper,?

KK will flourish in a professional football program with leaders to guide him. Perfect Lewis successor

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
