Latest rumour on Moonshadow;

He has started attending meetings of the Greens in a floral dress in order to gain pre-selection for the radical leftist seat of Melbourne.

He has the hips for it but not the legs.

Old news Biff. I'm now a paid up member of the Reason Party.

No reason, really...

Sounds reasonable enough.

Source isn’t really great but it’s doing the rounds on Facebook and Twitter.

There was one sentence re this buried amongst a bunch other stuff in the Herald Sun today.

Just said something along the lines of "Melbourne have shown some interest in Travis Colyer "

Colyer is a good player.  Has had foot problems which ruined his 2018.

The type we need, probably need a good going over by the Richmond medicos.

One of those that carry’s well and looks quick but wonder if he is or is it just because he’s small. Injury not his only foot problem. Makes Tyson kicks look like well adjusted lasers.

Matthew Lloyd saying he spoke to someone close to Dom Tyson camp last night and the push was on to get him to the Gold Coast and he wasn't happy about it. Would this be the club trying to send him up there as part of the May trade?

Do you blame him?

I can't see why Daniel Menzel would be a risk on a short term contract. He could really improve the versatility of our forward line.

Probably not...but it's not like he's in the box seat in this.

He wants to play footy.... he'll have to adopt a journeyman's outlook.

He'd want to be on absolute bottom dollar, because he makes Jeff Garlett looks like a competitive beast by comparison.

Menzel kicked 27 goals this season. That is pretty good. Better than Garlett.

Menzel, makes Jack Watts defensive pressure look elite. If Garlett can’t get a game then I’ll take a pass on his 27 goals cause the rebound will cost us plenty more.

And only played 12-13 games

Garlett played for Casey, what’s your point

Not interested.  He's not a crumber and he's useless defensively.  We've already got Melksham in this role who kicked 32 goals and is far better.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
