They no longer have 19. It has to be 6 and 23 now.

They just got 19 in the Neale deal.

Freo now hold picks: 6, 11, 19, 23, 30. I would be hoping for more than 6 & 23 for Hogan

I don’t know how unproductive some of you lot are right now but I’ve just put my noise canceling head phones on and am about to mow the lawns.

Back in an hour.

freo now saying they'll take jesse for nothing if we pay 50% of his salary for 2 years

But of course they haven't said that to us because as we know they aren't interested in Hogan this year, and are no longer discussing him with us.

Overall it's Neale for the equivalent of about pick 3 by itself. It's pick 6 and 55, plus an upgrade of 30 to 19.

The pick shuffles at the end aren't actually worth much overall.

Depends how their picks work out.  What if they want in two years time, or turn into average players?  What is May and KK are part of a premiership side in the next few seasons?

I'll hold off before saying Freo got 'more' for Neale than we did for Hogan.  Too subjective.

In terms of picks in the trade it's pretty objective. Sure hope we stick to our request for 2 first rounders, completely reasonable given what they'll be getting.

They don't have 30

Trade paperwork officially lodged. Melbourne trade Jesse Hogan and Rd 4 (65) (on traded from St Kilda) to Fremantle for Rd 1 (6) (on traded from Brisbane Lions) and Rd 2 (23) (on traded from Port Adelaide).

6 and 23 it is.

Hogan officially a Docker along with pick 65. We get picks 6 and 23 in return.

6 & 23, not what Mahoney stated he wanted, he caved

This article provides nothing. No direct quote or even a vague reference to an ‘unnamed source’. Just a hunch on the part of the journo. Yet based on this most of you are piling back on believing Jesse will be a Docker by Wednesday.

I’m telling you right now. They’ve gone cold on him. Bell isn’t bluffing, they’re no longer interested.

We’re stuck with Hogan for 12 months and this will all happen again next year.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
