Hoges as a defender?

Pert's feet are barely under the desk and match committee is already leaking

Come on, this is one of those rumors that started on demonland 30+ pages ago and has been picked up by the media.

It could be true, but it isn't a direct to media leak because it was first reported here Friday.

Suggestion in Hs that if hogan stays , he plays in defence

Gary Lyon and Paul Roos both said this during the finals when Weideman was on fire.

An article well worth a read ... an interesting diversion from the drivel (not dribble!!) in this thread !!

That list is trumped up garbage and the author should be ashamed of themselves. Tim Tams are so overrated. Great to see in 2018 we still fall for stupid marketing ploys and when was the last time you had Tim tams with your coffee for god’s sake? Oreos can stick it as well.

Honestly Anzacs and Mint Slice are probably the first good ones on the list, Tee Vee snacks aren’t bad but when I’m on my deathbed it’s safe to say with my last ounce of breath I won’t be uttering the line “I wish I had more Tee Vee snacks”.

Milk arrowroots, found in just about every council office tea room and visitors hall don’t feature until #30? And Scotch Finger my word! Fallen to #18 in the ‘Biscuit Draft’. If my scout/biscuit shopper went into a supermarket and chose Scotch Finger after 17 other biscuits they would be fired.

I like to keep the peace on here but forget it. I’m ready to fight anyone on this, just try me.

So you really believe JH being videoed in Freo would have any effect on the MFC recruitment team.  What a laugh.   Looks more like some supporters are too easily spooked.

Sue ... if you don’t think AFL clubs are capable of all manner of shenanigans when it comes to recruiting and poaching players you’re a tad in the naive column.

Didn't we come out and say we would have taken 5 & 23 had Freo not pulled the pin on Friday? If Negotiations resume I can't see us now demanding 5 & 14 (as much as us supporters would love that).

I'm not sure it was a smart idea for us to make that 5&23 claim in response to Bell's public tantrum. We probably did it to look like the sane and reasonable ones but it now might have damaged our position by showing our hand.

14/23 is an immaterial difference anyway. It’s the same outcome: the ability to get May, and a draft pick in the range that gives us a reasonable chance to draft a good player. The chance of getting a good player does not reduce very much at all between 14 and 23.

If the other pick was to be involved in an on-trade anyway, then it makes no difference at all if it was 14 or 23.

??

This thread has brought back memories of the arnotts family all sorts except that the tic tocs were always gone by the time I got there.

Could this be the cause of my extreme MFCSS?

Exactly. If the club was hellbent on getting rid of a damaged player the MFC would have accepted pick 11

it didn’t happen.

Pick 11 doesn’t get us May. Pointless to accept it.

Freo knew that of course.

I’m absolutely shocked the Iced Vo-Vo hasn’t been mentioned.

They may engage in shenanigans but are you so naive as to think that would affect a pro team of opponents?

Not pointless to accept it if we are as desperate to get rid of hogan as you have been saying.  You want it both ways.

But you are saying the MFC are pushing him out the door ?

i am saying this is not the case. The deal must be A Grade or its off

Yes, but you’re the one who keeps carping on about how his position is untenable now. If that’s true then it’s irrelevant whether what we get in return helps get May or not.

You’ve been out-logicked(?) by WYL.

FFS ... it was listed #13 !!!

#13 ICED VOVO

How exactly the pink fondant stays creamy and smooth in the packet is still a mystery. Either way, this icing, jam and coconut combo has our tastebuds singing.

No-one from Melbourne officially said anything. Damian Barrett reported on trade radio  that he had heard Melbourne would’ve accepted 5 & 23. No source given.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
