Not long now.......

Pretty soon we'll have arrived....

....

At 200 pages..... very exciting.

I pledge a further 15 pages.

This thread is putting enormous pressure on Freo to do this trade fairly. Every extra page helps.

Come on! Together we can do this!

5 and 9 for Polec. Wow!

That probably takes the cake. You are the winner.

5 for Polec and pick 9 from port red (on the assumption they held pick 9 at this stage)

Haha!

If Demonland actually put pressure on teams/players then Jack Watts would no longer be playing for us and stuck in a mental institution..... Oh..... Hang on ?

Yes..saw that... another overnight decision (not )lol

Despite what many might think this show called the Trade Circus has been scripted...and rewritten numerous times months before opening night ( well...morning tomorrow )

All the actors have been practicing their lines and delivery with ardour.

Grab your favourite bevvy and snacks. Get all comfy and watch the AFL version of Survivor meets the Bachelor unfold before your screens.

Yes...it's about as 'real' as that.

For all you  believers in WWE  or the Block....this must be orgasmic.

Ah....love the Circus

It's very interesting that BnF Neale wants out to a bottom 4 club not in his home state.  He doesn't appear to have been offered the mega deal say Gaff has been offered at North either although he appears equally qualifed.

Not much appears to be made of this move in discussions or the media. I guess it's because it's WA to Qld and it's out of direct view in Victoria.

It's a massiive move IMO.

The only thing I can think of is that he wants out of a footy state? Allow him to have a bit more of a normal life style/out of media street and he sees Brisbane as the team with the best future (of the 4 northern teams).

Otherwise it doesn't make sense to me?

Maybe had enough of WA and a toxic coach perhaps ?

Hates playing under Ross Lyon is one trite explanation but that's hard to reconcile with consecutive BnF finishes of 1st, 2nd, 1st. Btw, I do think that values him very highly in the trade market.

Maybe he sees no imminent sucess at Freo and that's what he craves. But despite Brisbane's optimistic outlook and improvement curve they did finish bottom 4, below Freo.

It's confusing to me.

For all Brisbane have been a basket case in the past, they have been getting themselves together in the last year or two. Fagan's appointment was not sexy but it was a mature decision that shows the football community that they are professional organisation. Plus they have shown promise on field for a successful future.

Neale has shown that he obviously doesn't rate Freo's next 5 years, or that playing football at the FFC is not enjoyable for him. Probably the later, given that there had been talk around him leaving for SA during previous contract periods.

Either way, it's a terrible situation for Freo. They certainly need Hogan to sell some hope to their supporters.

For Jesse, what price would you pay to go home?

Last line says it all.

Yes fwiw the footy journo I know through work mentioned that while there were always divisions within clubs there are more than the usual group of unhappy campers at Freo. It could be an interesting ride for Hogan if he ends up there

Yep, clearly says a lot about Lyon and Freo, but this is what you're insinuating I think.

Yes i was thinking about how Jesse would get along with Lyon? Not sure it's a match made in heaven.

Jesse just posted on his Instagram page that’s it’s good to be back “home” in Melbourne to this nice weather.

I can see Freo using the Neale deal as the basis for a Hogan deal.

Neale:  consistent and outstanding bnf record (2 firsts, 1 runner up), 3 X AA squad, 25yo, probably top two mvp at Freo, proven gun .

Hogan:  Rising star, leading MFC goalkicker, potential Coleman medallist, potential gun, potential bust if he doesn't get his mojo sorted.

I can't help but compare how Aaron Vandenberg has conducted himself in not too dissimilar circumstances as Jesse.   Aaron has overcome incredible adversity to get the most from himself.    Not sure Jesse has the grit to get the most from himself.  And therein is where his trade value drops.

Albeit set back by injury and tragedy there are enough question marks on Hogan for Freo to value him below Neale in trade value.

I reckon the better the deal Freo get for Neale the better the deal we get for Hogan.  Pple should prepare for us not getting what fans think he is worth.

Yeah, well, exactly. If I'm Jesse, I'm more likely to want to stay at Melbourne, even if it is for $400-500k less pa. The Gaff likely re-signing adds further intrigue - does Jesse follow suit?

What do you mean ‘compare Hogan to Vanders?’

One cannot go to the airport without a journalistic escort and the other isn’t recognised by Dees fans.

There is no comparison to how they have handled their completely different circumstances.

I’ve got a gut feel he will stay and sign on for another two years.

Try and get a premiership with the lads, then maybe head home after that.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
