just completed the club survey.

suggested that they somehow strike a deal with the companies that provide drinks at the venues to have MFC logo/ branding on cups etc. obviously logistics and cost would be big, but IMO it would be awesome to drink a beer with the logo on the side @ the games. make it exclusive to reinforce that we are the only home team at the venue. serve drinks in MFC cups @ all games! feck em!!

When does the auto payments happen?

Dedicated Demon Annual – full amount deducted from your credit card on 25th October each year.

Dedicated Demon Monthly – your annual membership fee is divided into ten monthly instalments (November to August) and deducted monthly from your credit card on the first business day of each month. Payments commence upon receipt of your application, or on 1 November for rolling payment plans.

https://membership.melbournefc.com.au/dedicated-demon

Not related to your query - we should see a big flip in membership numbers after Oct 25, then again after Nov 1 when the rollovers happen!

Anyone purchased GF guarentee? 229 is a bit of a gamble

I'm going to. If we make it it's worth twice that.

The GF ticket itself would be 400$ on top of the guarantee

Have been keenly awaiting an update!

1,053 (3.8%) up on same time last year:  27,610 on Nov 30, 2017.  Thought we would have had a bigger leap on the back of the finals attendances but a good start, nonetheless.

we need roughly a 10% increase to hit 50k so a 3.8% increase is not going to cut it. AFL club support were also rolled over last week so not sure if they are in the figures.

TBH the membership figures mean little if clubs are going to continue including 3 game memberships etc in the same category.

Post their 2016 GF Bulldogs had a waiting list for their GFG category. MFC have never had one to my knowledge. That could be a good goal for the 2019 year.

Interesting that back in October I was going to upgrade my membership to Redleg or Tridents but they were full. So no choice but to stay with a standard membership.

I might add that when I mentioned this to Mrs OD she said just as well we are away for six weeks next footy season. After checking I will miss three home games so I guess the MFC saved me.

However it does raise the issue that only GA memberships are available from October forward.

Will GA prices start rising for the 2020 season?

Interestingly I rang the club yesterday to enquire about the prices for GFG. Was told that I wouldn't get the packages relating to seating on level 2 and was recommended Demons seats plus. No mention of them being sold out so I sent the Cheque off today.

? What’s a Cheque? Is my credit card about to be replaced by new technology?

And thank goodness for that trying to keep track of all those stubs to do your Tax, etc, mind you no one could steal your identity via a Cheque book. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a 8% increase on Nov 30, 2017.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this rise substantially before Christmas - we have already exceeded last year's Christmas Eve total.

We are on the way to reach 50,000!

On a purely selfish basis that makes it way hard to get finals tickets etc. However good result for the club finances etc.

I've just tried to renew online. I'm an MCC member wanting to take up the MCC/MFC offer but I can't renew online. Anyone else having the same problem? (I will ring the club and renew, but my concern is with the inefficiency of the membership renewal system).

Gary Pert just said on SEN there are 22,000 MCC members who list MFC as their club but only 50% buy an MFC membership.

If Pert is even semi successful in that quest we will exceed 50,000!

It is around $800.00 for the combined MFC/MCC Full package so if Pert can lift those numbers significantly, he is doing some serious heavy lifting.

Winning games early next year is paramount. Winning is the only way to get results. The rest is just cheap talk.

The first 2 weeks of this years Finals  proved that.

The passionate MFC Supporters ARE out there. They just want to see wins now. We have seen 3-4 lifetimes of losses. Enough.

Good post and something we haven't mentioned for a while.

Realistically though as more clubs make the mcg their home ground the percentage of MFC followers in the mcc will decrease.

Would also love to know the age demographic of the common group. If they are in the main under 40 it could be worth a concerted effort of some magnitude.

By the way does the MCC offer common memberships for Richmond and Collingwood etc

I just paid up today, went for the Reserved Seat open air to get the GFG and hopefully inspire myself to come down from Sydney for at least 5 games this year. However unless the mods have a problem, I’d be happy to offer my M15 seat to any other interstate members who want the better seat if they want to PM me (obviously if I’m not using it myself). Super pumped for this year

La Dee-vina,

I just did my update this morning.
You need to log into the MCC portal and pay through that. Click on renew my membership and as you've already paid for your MCC (I imagine) it will allow you to get either a MCC premium or just exclusive membership. That should work.

Good luck & Go Dees

As far as i know it is only an MFC arrangement. The MCG is our home.

The others have a spiritual home elsewhere, they rent...

And nothing says "common" more than a Richmond or Collingwood membership.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
