Well... such a great win, plenty of heat and I was so proud that the boys got to the “stars” in numbers and held them to account for their indiscretions- Ablett you weak [censored], Selwood you weak [censored], and danger you emotionally weak individual... ever since Vince gave him a lesson, he’s never been able to deal with Melbourne pressure. (Thank you Vince for exposing this weakness).

The boys stood up for each other tonight, I’m so glad I flew down, what a great win! Be afraid Hawks!!!

Dunstall sat there on quietly on fox footy post match whilst the Roosy and King talked us up. I thought he was stewing that Dees would be up against his beloved Hawks next week. Then he said that was the toughest MFC outfit he had seen in the 20 years as a footy commentator!

Just got back home. Wowee! What a win! Loved it. My dad and brothers and me all watching the team we love triumph. So, glad to finally get revenge on Geelong. They may have beaten us but we won the one that matters.

Saw Billy Brownless not too far from us. Funny he was sitting in the casual seating.

Pain getting into the turnstiles. So slow and was stuck near some drunk feral woman. Finally back and so tired. Going to sleep in my demons top tonight.

Like Spargo game against GWS, but he was poor tonight. His kicking penetrating worries me. Maybe Jeff or JKH in

So Argo out

Bright future, but not this year

It all makes sense now  -  we lost to them twice by less than goal during the season on purpose so we could let them squeak into 8th spot and play them when the real stuff starts and break their hearts.

Oh well, enjoy those two home and away wins Cats....  lol

Sir Peter Jackson and Roosy

Yes we were dead in the water when PJ arrived. If not for him I doubt we would exist in 2018 let alone be playing in the second week of finals.

Thought Danger was a real grub tonight.

Was sitting in m33 right in the middle of the cat's cheer squad, was waving my scarf after every goal in the last qtr, got lots of death  stares.

Brilliant. Best seat in the house.

Anyone see Scott’s presser? Was almost crying. Thought his start of it was a nice respectful touch though. Paid tribute to the dees before taking any questions.

Folks was at the game and a mate got a text that  said Gawn and Clarrie has been reported. True?

Hey Cassiew! Billy was just below me too, I felt for the lad given what a win against Melbourne would’ve meant for him... but he was humble, hats off to the man!

So glad I was in the presence of a fellow demon lander!!!

(you weren’t in that row of 4 girls R9 were you?)

Nothing mentioned on either fox or 7

Toughest Demons effort since........... I cannot remember

It reminded me of the Elimination Final 1987.  Same build up with Demons not having any finals experience.  However right from the start our guys were on, showing that they could play at the level.Today was our day and they knew it.

Nah, was with my dad and brothers

Finally home. I’m so emotionally drained. It hasn’t fully sunk in yet. I’m gonna enjoy the replay tomorrow.

I must say Lewis was outstanding tonight. The man can play finals!

Such an amazing game to be at. It was good to see so many Demons fans show up. To beat Thursday night’s attendance is outstanding!

Can’t wait to watch the pre-match, match and post-match on Fox tomorrow that I IQed.

Away from the limelight, I think Oscar had some outstanding involvements when called upon.  Similar for Petracca and Tyson.  Our collective inabily to finish notwithstanding.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
