Completely agree, although i thought anb's tackling pressure was pretty useful, and was generally in the mix of things.

Loved the Weid standing tall tonight. Added another string to our bow.

Yep, the Sydney pub I ended up at was all about the Rugby League, barely an AFL person, let alone a demon.

But even that crowd was cheering during Hannan's run-in - possibly helped draw some attention when I momentarily lost it when his opponent slipped and I yelled "RRRUUN" like some kind of horror movie cliche.

Put Ray Gabelich to shame.

On the Fox after match show u could see how proud Paul Roos was. You couldn’t wipe the smile from his face and the crowd was chanting ROOSY.

We owe that man so much.

He's given me Fever,,,   Hey!!! Fever...

If we keep winning we are a big side.

Said it for years. A MASSIVE dormant supporter base...

My favourite moment this season was watching the start of the final quarter..

Selwood pulls a free kick from viney.

Viney picks up his mouth gaurd as Selwood goes to take his kick.

Selwood tries to play on and slips over and gets caught by Jack.

Ball goes forward and Jones kicks true.

We're home.

My kids are 19 and 21. First final they can remember the Dees winning.

We've got some forward entry work to do but jfc we play some s**t hot footy.

How do I get from Ballina to the Pondsford for next Friday?

Well we have now beaten those 3 princesses and now we need to beat Frawley and the Dorks next Friday.

These are the two main teams who have heaped pain on us in the past.

Its time for payback against the Dorks.

Being born just before the turn of the century I never really got to fully experience finals footy. I was there in '06 against the Saints but don't remember a single bit of it. Being there tonight next to my old man and seeing the joy on his face I knew this team is special and we have the ability to make things happen. Here's to you boys who wear the red and blue proudly. What a fantastic night. Up the Dees!!!

No injuries, no reports...

Yep, the Hawks game is a massive step in our march to erase our dark era. We've already done so much to build a new golden age, next Friday is just the next step!

ANB 20 disposals, 9 tackles,

Not bad for a defensive forward.

Tom Browne from 7 said Gawn was getting work on his calf after the game and when he asked him how it was he said it was “alright”.

Hope there is nothing to worry about there.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
