Ditto message on AFL site and social media.ย

Unbelievable.

Recommend monitoring Twitter of AFL, Ticketek and all clubs (including Hawks, Swans, GWS and Tigers who knows who will be quickest to update). Ticketek has shut down purchases for the time being. As soon as they say when, try to be ready with barcodes typed in word or notepad on a seperate lines so you just have to copy, paste all at once. Cross everything and pray.

Good luck to all.ย

Both clubs have confirmed there are still plenty of tickets for both clubs available and that the ticatek site will be back up soon.

Well, it WAS working, albeit briefly.

Sorryย  ย :(

Now MCC presale tickets also suspended.

ย

What a balls up.

ย

Also a quick tip for you - I was online first thing, got to the payment stage and it then said the page had expired and hadn't processed. I went to get the tickets again and it told me my allocation per barcode had been used. Then checked my order history and the tickets were there, as well as payment taken out of the credit card so ifย  you get a similar message to me, check before going through the process again so you don't end up buying two lots, which I almost did!

Friggin hellย  Been trying all morning. So stressful Been looking forward to this for so long. Id rather the old days when you had to queue.

WA Optus Oval ticketing is with Ticketmaster and they don't seem to have had any problems.

Is it the venue, i.e. the MCG that is with Ticketek?

Once again Thanks Gil you are a bloody marvel

Yeh, right, Gil's responsible for Ticketek stuff up.

So I'm going to ask something really stupid.... Why do Members have to pay for tickets? Is this just for the finals? Sorry, but I've never been to Melbourne to watch live before.ย

This ticketek stuff up has continually occurred come finals time. The fact he hasn't held them accountable is a failure in his duty as CEO of the AFL.

is the ticketing agreement with the venue or the competition? If it was with the AFL then why is the methcoast collingwood game done through ticketmaster? Should the MCG be being blamed?

He gives them the contract every year and every year the same things happen. Ticketek are the same every year. These people are selling the AFL tickets to fans the performance is terrible every year. In the end the buck stops with the AFL It is their product being trashed.

Just a thought but does that then not stop with the chief of the AFL.

Each venue has its own ticketing agent.ย  That said, it is not good enough for the AFL not to demand improvements. These companies make an absolute fortune from selling AFL tickets. If the AFL were serious they could sell their own tickets and cut out the middle man.

ย

I know tickets arenโ€™t sold out but everytime I get that notification I die a little inside.ย

Who knew making finals would be this stressful. Bring back talking draft picks in August!

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
