Still can't fathom how we lost to this mob  Stkilda

CHRIST. St Kilda are [censored] pathetic.

Of course, if we'd been playing them tonight, they'd be playing like superstars wouldn't they?

[censored] Melbourne.

Again i ask how an earth did we manage to lose to stkilda?

Not great games tonight. The hawks should thrash stkilda and the other game is the q clash

Umpiring was totally off that day.

Everyone behold the reason we'll probably miss finals: because we lost to this pathetic mob by 2 points.

Nobody to blame but ourselves. We continually drink our own bathwater and put ourselves into these stupid situations.

I want to play the Hawks in an elimination final... couldn't think of anything better than sending that mob packing while winning our first final in 12 years.

I'd be happy to play any team in any final.

Couldn't agree more.

Glorious. I was there in 1990

I think Hawthorn would beat Sydney 4/5 times, so St Kilda absurdly winning tonight would pave the way for top 4 with 2 glorious demon wins.

Keep clutching. As we tried to tell you ad nauseum last week, we'll be fighting just to stay in the top 8 after losing to Sydney. Small steps mate, small steps... Let's just make finals before we worry about making the top 4 (which is not going to happen, like we keep telling you).

Mate, I added 'Clutches at straws" to spare you of a sermon.

From what I have seen the giants don’t look unbeatable.

J.s.s H C. Rist!  No one should be considered unbeatable!

Our group should be able to stand up against the best.

There are no excuses anymore.

100% agree. We have been in so many winning positions this year and let it slip, the tigers are the only team I feel confident would beat us every day of the week.

Strangely there are a few i dont think we can beat atm, but i feel we could beat Richmond if we got everything right..

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
