Damn shame, that’s our record. Good. Another old record gone we gotta earn them back with hard work Quote
Diamond_Jim 12,775 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Tigers to thrash Adelaide and snuff out any chance of the eight please. Collingwood v Essendon (draw please) otherwise Collingwood win by a few points though a Collingwood loss and the start of a slide out of the 8 could be enjoyable as well. Quote

I now find myself watching our games and barely a few minutes of a couple of other games each week. This is an increasingly common view.. For me, my anticipation and enjoyment of the game is tempered by my anxiety and anger over the umpiring. Not just because we seem to be on the receiving end, but how this frustration is ruining the enjoyment of the contest. There is the general issue of the umpiring approach on the day, as it seems to vary match by match, but it also comes down to umpiring competency or the lack of it and the avoidance of any common sense. However, the 50 m penalty is doing my head in as it has such a profound impact on the game and mitigates against the enjoyment of two sides battling it out (without whole passages of the game being influenced and stopped by the umpires whistle). . 2 1 Quote
monoccular 17,760 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) So bloody inconsistent spoils the enjoyment of the game 50 meters - clear and unequivocal against Martin who came in from the side : not paid HTB prior opportunity - again Martin had opportunity to fend off : “no prior”!! mofo 21 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Can't believe triple m have Mark Howard calling the game tonight. Should be never heard or seen of again after last week. Quote
Earl Hood 6,167 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Good to see Cheney still getting a Friday Night game for Adelaide! Made the most of his talent that boy! 1 Quote
Lord Travis 10,819 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 No one is going to get close to Richmond this year unless they suffer injuries to key players. They’re a clear level above all other teams. So jealous! 1 Quote
Lord Travis 10,819 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Also, anyone saying leg speed isn’t important only needs to watch Richmond to see they’re wrong. It’s all teams can apply pressure, but Richmond’s leg speed across the whole ground is the defining trait that sets them apart from other teams. 3 Quote
Dee1987 277 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 They basically have not had an Injury since 2016 Quote
Lord Travis 10,819 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) And it’s allowed them to build a game style that stands up. They’re a great cohesive football team. We can only dream we wind up as good as them one day. Edited July 6, 2018 by Lord Travis 3 Quote

piddz 118 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 This game is unbearable to watch without mute on. The excessive drooling over richmond is sickening 3 Quote

I’d prefer we were able to produce anything decent at the MCG full stop, then we might wind up a good footy team! I’m super jealous of the Tigers and how they’ve turned it around with what I think isn’t actually that good of a list. Credit to their coaching staff and leaders for getting them to perform consistently. God I hope we can become like them one day! 1 Quote
dieter 3,325 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Richmond are scarily awesome. How can a side rise from absolute shite to this good so quickly? Same coach - I can't bear his smugness these days, much preferred his grumpy thuggish side because at least he was true to himself. And, more or less, the same team. They simply play amazing football. PS: No, I'll never forgive what Hardwick and Wallis did to 19 year old Green in the 200 Grand Final. 1 Quote
dl4e 5,851 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 It would be good to see Adelaide get thrashed. It will kill off any hope of the 8. Quote

Lord Travis 10,819 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Up by over 50 points. They haven't lost at the MCG in over a year now. They've also reached the longest winning streak at the MCG set by the Demons in the 50s. They are truly awesome. I wish I could enjoy watching us play at the MCG like this! 1 Quote
