What about Weiderman & JKH for Darcy Moore?

Is Moore even that good? From what I’ve seen of him he hasn’t delivered yet either?

Maybe just Weid for Moore

Hard to know what Pies will do, I've heard for some time that they want both Weid and Lynch (GC), going to be an interesting trade period. Moore was linked to Swans so god knows what will happen.

So just to get this straight.... you'd keep a guy that's played a handful of senior games over a few years, who's had one injury after another, who struggles to get on the park,  just because of the size of his nuts and he goes in hard.... rather than keep a tough midfielder with excellent skills who also goes in hard, is reaching peak form, has a couple of BOGs already this year and is highly respected amongst his teammates, including the captain???

Keep Vanders and remove Gus from our list? Again, crazy talk.

Stop biting, Moonie.  He ain't worth it.

I'm honestly glad some of the NQR's on here aren't list managers..

One of the most bewildering posts I've read..

2 + 2 does not equal 8

Brayshaw was hard at it tonight.  He's showing plenty of courage.

Brayshaw was good tonight, especially early. He is tracking along nicely and has had a solid year - massive improvement. Brayshaw, Oliver and Viney are our future midfield.

Yep he showed his class in his first season.

But his weakness is always going to be a concern Re his footy.

But if he continues his attack at the ball and the man, like he is, he will become untouchable, within our list.

Weitering needs a fresh start, I’d welcome him at the Dees. A fit and confident Weitering, Lever and OMac as the talls would be a delight. Hibberd, Jetta, Lewis (or insert replacement, Hunt?) as the small-mediums.

OOC end of 2021. Probably disregard my above post then..

Yeah, Weitering signed a long term deal at the end of last year or early this year. Certainly worth an inquiry though.

Jack Martin?

Might not demand a top pick, I haven't watched much of him this year but was highly touted as a junior.

Trade out Tyson!  He has played good in patches however, has not met expectations.

would also put Kent on trade table.

The Tiges have a few small forwards who can't get a game at the moment.

I would seriously look at a trade for Shai Bolton.

He's behind Rioli, Higgins etc at the mo.

We need some pace and x factor in the forward half.

I watched Bolton a few weeks ago in the VFL and was quite impressed, has potential.

I wondered why I always liked that name, Weitering.

I see that North have made a $5M over five years offer for De Goey.

Hopefully it hurts the Pies to match it.

Also Gubby Allen has taken a job at North... will be interesting to see how Eddie reacts to his mate targeting one of their key players

Pies are in a tough spot.  They have admitted they have minimal cap space, so if they want to sign him and match that deal (or get close to it), they will either have no space to use over the next couple of seasons or have to trade out some contracts which others may not be keen to accept unless they throw in a sweetener (eg a first rounder).

If they let him go then I could see De Goey flourishing at North.  Tough times ahead for the Pies, and I don't feel bad about that at all.

Billy there is no one with half a brain who would think that is a good deal.

He's not a FA, so Norf will have to trade for him on top of paying $1mill pa. Probably 1 rounder + second rounder. This could come back to bite Norf on the bumm

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
