Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

yep... just down the road from the Big wheel ... such a success ... not to mention the restaurants that fail almost by the week down in Docklands.

The only good thing about the stadium is that it has a roof that stops the icy winds off the Yarra pool cutting you to pieces.

Have you studied the number of failed theme parks in NSW? Does the 20th century Fox theme park ring any bells? Just have a look at the capital investment required per ride and then do the sums on the attendances needed to break even.

And just to remind you Docklands Stadium itself was a financial failure... AFL bailed out the financiers by taking a long term playing commitment after which the stadium reverted to the AFL. The original investors including the State Government took a bath.

The next battle for the AFL is how to renegotiate the deal that the original owners did with the Medallion club and its members. Not much return on those seats I can assure you.

Is it possible the State Government always expected to "take a bath" with it? Wasn't the idea to build the Stadium as an anchor tenant to encourage development around it?

Marvel Comics have been going bad since they introduced a SJW agenda into their comics. Comic book stores in America are going broke since comic book readers just want a good story instead of politics, social justice and diversity shoved down their throats.

As for their movies, they seem to be going well; as for their stadium, time will tell.

For those who have not read a Marvel Comic for a while, here is an example:

Milkshake? I bet those b*stards stole that milk from an innocent cow. A Bovine-American cow at that! That's forced to live outdoors and allowed only grass to eat.

And the Oreos? No doubt from an impoverished Amazonian Oreo farmer who can't even afford a ticket to see Iron Man part XXVI

Any chance that in a few years the AFL sell the stadium to Disney for a theme park? Perhaps the AFL could build at another site say at North Melbourne or West Melbourne or Gosch's Paddock.

Nailed it, Versatility and partnerships where both parties can benefit from the others core competencies. AFL is a well run sports entertainment business - massive amount of possible highly profitable opportunities will start to become deliverable.

Such poetry.

Of course these opportunities will in no way involve some trade off with the heart and soul of the game.

Like the grass surface being painted like a giant ad for the latest cartoon movie.

Like cheer squad banners being banned and replaced by professional quality advertising hoardings ... a two-sided promotion for Disneyland with unfortunately no room left over for the traditional daggy rhyming message.

Like umpires being dressed up as Batman and Superman or whoever is the latest seeker of truth and justice.

Yes, I can see a massive amount of possible highly profitable opportunities being deliverable.

Any chance they'll sell an entire team to Disney? The Gold Coast Mighty Ducks, who each week dress as the latest blockbusting hero who happens to appear in an upcoming movie. And the oppo must dress as his or her nemesis super villain, to be VANQUISHED!

(Replays and overtime permitted in the event of a non-vanquishing.)

No doubt about it - with a multi national company like Disney getting onboard the development opportunities are now very exciting. The Victorian Sports Entertainment Complex managed by the AFL, an entertainment precinct located in the heart of the city. Stroke of genius by the AFL.

Don't give us language that's been cut and pasted out of the Introductory Marketing 101 course at TAFE.

Tell us some of the exciting "development opportunities" that might happen. As examples.

I agree with this. Kids will love this. Disney, Marvel and the AFL have a great opportunity from an entertainment perspective.

Yeah, and they will have to leave the roof open for Spiderman.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
