well, given the state of the GC reserves we should go ok.

They had 11 listed players and 5 are first round picks and they failed to score a goal in the NEAFL against the Lions reserves team.

how can a team that is 3-2 in the NEAFL, with players such as Peter Wright and Kade Koladjashnij not score a goal and only score 4 points for the whole game.

I'm out all day so I'll be keeping tabs on my phone.  As I can't discuss the game with all you wonderful* people, I'll leave you with these:

- A 5 goal win is fine.  In fact, ANY win on the road is fine.

- Dom Tyson is the best disposer of the football in the AFL and will hit target after target today.

- Don't [censored] your pants when Gold Coast kick the first and then refer to the lead up play as 'reminding you of the Mark Neeld days'

- ANB should be a long distance runner at the next Olympic Games.

- Dees to win... by 5 goals...

*Most of you are wonderful...

But the highs and the lows I go through every 39 seconds... they vary...

Dom has so far got 4 from 4 kicks in the pregame - don’t use up all your tickets pal...

Wife has volunteered today, god bless her. Apparently the fishing has been quite good and the big croc is out sunning himself.

Why isn't this game in Cairns ?? I'm in Port Douglas now and I would go to watch them in a heartbeat if it were in Cairns. As it is, I'll be watching it with FND at the Central Hotel in Port Douglas as the coconut palms sway in a gentle tropical zephyr.

This is our day people !!

Hey Pineapple, I did just exactly that when I was up there visiting relatives and watched the Brisbane game!

Agree with Cairns venue. Tell you what you will find a few Dees supporters sharing a frothy with you at the Central!

Also the regular Cane toad races are Huge next door!!

Enjoy!

Worried about the 4 games in 18 days affect on our run!

Just taken my seat at the Vulture street end ground surface looks great, conditions near perfect except for a swirly wind. The crowd is underwhelming. I thought there was a clown convention on as well but just realised they are Suns supporters in full gear!

15mins from first bounce and the MFC cheer squad makes up about 1/4 of the total crowd.  Not going to be breaking any attendance records here today.

Will probably be a bigger crowd at tomorrow's VFL game to watch Casey.

I do hope so.  A more legitimate Aussie Rules following up on the GC than Western Sydney.  It's a long was from the GC to Brisbane ...a bit like the MFC playing a home game at Kardinia Park.  Based on this attendance GC would probably have been better off playing at Southport's home ground tonight.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
