Hogan - continued outstanding season [has big tank]

T.McDonald - a significant impact [field kicking horrible]

Weideman - junk time possessions [self belief everything]

Neal-Bullen - replace with Viney [replace with anyone]

Petracca - was obviously underdone [still awaiting breakout]

Jones - impressive captain’s game [ultimate blue collar]

Brayshaw - career best game [upside is enormous]

Gawn - was masterful again [took opponent apart]

Harmes - important but careless [good - weak opposition]

Oliver - back to best [loves the contest]

Spargo - love his endeavour [very encouraging signs]

Tyson - prolific but wasteful [Taylor likes him!]

Hannan - made an impact [doesn't do enough]

Melksham - not as potent [not impotent though!]

Fritsch - lots to like [please get involved]

Hibberd - returned to best [thank you Essenscum]

Hunt - effective but lacking [can't find plot]

Jetta - brave and reliable [quietish but reassuring]

Lever - improving each game [worth the dough]

Lewis - professional and important [meh . . . really?]

O.McDonald - underrated and important [competition top 12]

Vince - barely wasted possessions [ultimate team man]

Missed a couple.

Tyson couldn't have been that wasteful because the commentators were calling him our best kick with a 'dynamite' left. Obviously that's not normally the case but...

Still gets caught way too much but his disposal was on today.

You're kidding? We were crucified.

A few odd ones against us but especially in the first half we were one the right side of the umps.

Every time Weid clunks a mark, or jags a goal, his confidence lifts a little.  He is holding his own during his small stints in the ruck, and he took his chances today when they were presented to him.

Of course we would like him to do more, but right now he is playing his role nicely within the side.  There is no reason to drop him at this point as he's working really well in tandem with both Hogan and T Mac.

Nice job on the 3 word analysis as well, joeboy.

Lazy re-hashed assessment of Tyson. "Wasteful" is the last word I would associate with his game today.

Other than that, pretty accurate.

I tend to agree. There is a player there, and as much as I like Pedo, I think we should persevere with Weid. At least for another month anyway.

Agree with comments on both the weed and on joeboy.

Re the Weed, i watched his positioning today and it was clear he was no. 3. He was very rarely the target, typically ran the decoys or dragged defenders away from the pack.  The ball mostly went towards TMac or Gawn.

I think this will change as he clunks more and becomes trusted.  But he is playing his role well and the forward line is clicking so i wouldn't change anything.

I feel like I'm always the one being critical of him, but he had a chance early in the game to impose himself when Hannan skied the ball. He needed to launch at it and mark it in his hands. He tried to mark it on his chest and this allowed Webster to run back and spoil without giving away a free kick for not looking at the ball. Great spoil but an easy free kick to draw for a marking player.

Tom McDonal burnt him in the first quarter on another opportunity where he had a nice run at it with an open 50, unfortunately the kick wasn't high enough and was intercepted.

He needs to give us more in the first half of games if he is going to remain in the team.

.

Great post Joeboy.

But who's underrating Oscar McDonald?

We now have a 10 year Full back. His first pack mark in the first minute against 3 saints was sensational.

I think one of the best things about Oscar is that he is an example of what happens when you have a decent development program in place.

Oscar came in with no real expectations and was allowed to develop at his own pace. Latitude was given for mistakes that were made and now we have a solid fullback.

If he can put on a bit more condition without losing any speed, then we'll be set.
